Valentine #1 overall?
Now i know you cant be serious. This is not something to overthink, the obvious #1 is Simmons. Talking yourself out of it is how you end up with greg oden insread of kevin durant.

I agree with 99% of your post with the exception of the statement above. Ben knows that part of being on scholarship involves going to classes. It's his responsibility to fulfill this obligation as a member of the basketball team. It isn't like it's that difficult to take a bunch of BS classes for a semester and a half.

No one has Simmons' potential. He has an amazingly well developed sense of ball movement (important in today's NBA) and the athleticism to be a superstar.

Why on earth would you think Buddy Hield would go higher? No one I their right mind is predicting him to go even top 5.

It's s win now league and hield can deliver faster than Ben. Ben will get dominated next year in the nba.it will take years for Ben to develop full nba skills like an outside shot. He may go number one but I don't care. I just want him to play hard evry minute he is on the court for lsu.

His jumper better get serious on the next level. He's not a post player. They're drafting him because of his versatility, which will disappear if he can't shoot. NBA players will slough off on him. Dare him to shoot. And he'll be on an island with someone just as fast and just as big.

At this point, given the success Durant, Beasley, and others had on the college level, even if only for a year, I'm not sure that he's not a bust.

It should improve, but I'm not sure how much it will. Generally, you can either shoot or you can't. Players improve, but they rarely become great shooters if they are bad shooters.

Lebron is a decent shooter, but that's still his biggest weakness.

He needs another year. It will never happen, but next year, he'll be in the NBA averaging five points and a ton of turnovers if his jump shot doesn't improve.

One and dones. A double edge sword.

But at least Anthony Davis and Carmelo Anthony worked harder, were tougher, cared more paid more attention to detail and won national championships at their schools.

The Sixers have literally Ben ranking for 5 or 6 years now. They will wait on Ben

Does anyone expect him to give a shite anymore about LSU? We have a terrible coach and it's a glaring issue. He knows he will be gone in 3 weeks and to be honest, I wouldn't be concerned either. I've seen him hanging out with more NBA players after Pels games, his mind is already concerned with the NBA.

Sixers aren't guaranteed the number 1 pick. If a team like Minnesota can get the pick, I can see a scenario where they take Buddy.

This the problem with having a kid who obviously thinks he is better than the program he is playing in and is looking out for himself because he already knows he is gone.

Would you be? The season is lost and he's going to be the #1 pick in a few months. I would probably check out, too.

It's so obvious that the people saying he's hurting his draft stock or he might not go number one do not follow the NBA game and are just looking for any reason to bash him.

Hield or Valentine number one? I seriously LOL'd. Any NBA GM that drafted either of them number one would be instantly fired. I challenge anyone to find a mock draft that has anyone besides Simmons number one. If one exists, I sure haven't found it.

For those of you comparing him to Carmelo, AD, etc....those guys went to powerhouse schools and played for hall of fame coaches. This team's failure is not on Ben, it is on the coach. Period.

Damn LSU fans are quick to turn on their own. Gone from kissing his arse to throwing him under the bus in a few months time.
