Again this is narrative nonsense that you can't back up in anyway.

Point blank: the bloke shouldn't be referring to himself as the best.

And if he says he isn't the best, you guys would be ripping him for being soft and too passive. I can hear it now, "could you imagine Kobe or Jordon ever saying they weren't the best. This guy is soft as my pillow".

But whatever, I'm sick of banging my head against a wall. I'll let you guys continue your circle jerk of tearing apart a 19 year kid.

Leonard Fournette said Chubb was the best back in the conference. That's how you do it, not by saluting yourself.

How about, "there are a lot of great deserving players in this country, I'm glad to just be in the discussion. "

Kobe and Jordan have safes for their rings. Let Ben grab a few of those before we make that comparison.

He's a very talented player who has great stats, has disappeared in some games, plays ole defense alot, mostly average talent around him, a below average coach, and right now kind of seems like a shithead because of the grade situation and a sudden lack of humility.

Some possibly would say that but that is for a different thread.

From what I've seen posted in this thread, no one is tearing Simmons apart.

You'll agree that with all the hype surrounding Simmons prior to him playing and during this season, that he hasn't measured up to the hype.

Understand that this is no way bashing him. He is a very gifted and amazing athlete, he is. I don't think anyone will debate that.

He is also 19. I know I said some stupid stuff when I was 19. I had nowhere near his athletic talents but a male 19 year old, is in fact, a male 19 year old.

He is part of a team. It's not on his shoulders to win every game. He should understand that and if he doesn't, that's for a different thread, as I stated earlier.

Leadership, camaraderie, part of a unit and celebrate that unit's achievements as a unit, not single out one piston of the engine.

I think that's all anyone here was trying to point out.

I'm sick of those meaningless lame coach-speak answers and, agreeable or not, I enjoy it when an athlete simply answers a question with an honest answer.

So what you're yawning at isn't an honest answer?

Insecurity is a lot louder than confidence.

You really should have read the whole thread.

Here are some quotes from it:

quote:

Will applaud his departure

quote:

Two more games and he can go get pushed around in the NBA like a rag doll.

quote:

Well, I know blood suckers when I see them and he is one hell of a blood sucker. I feel BAD for the guys that have and tried to contribute to this team but with him it is impossible. He has believed everything he has read. What a waste.

quote:

It doesn't change the fact that he's soft as baby shite,

quote:

Ben gets his stats, and he makes sure to point that out. But the team is barely an afterthought, and he could care less at the end of the day.

Don't know how you could read those and say that NO ONE is tearing him apart.

I understand what you're getting at. It's frustration but I also see where you're coming from too.

It's sad the team under performed but I'm glad we are all noticing that he did not live up to the hype.

Might be the best player on LSU's team, BUT NOT the best player in the nation! TOO SOFT!
