Just saw on ESPN a post-game interview where they asked about him not being eligible for the Wooden award.

Ben said he's the best player.

He doesn't play defense...at all. He just let the guy from Kentucky shoot an uncontested layup in the first half, when he very easily could have made an attempt to block or foul him. No perimeter shot to speak of, which is weird because he looks fluid at the line. He is a great dribbler and passer, ok on the boards, but that isn't enough. He doesn't play with fire and looks disinterested at times, and that will carry over into the NBA I'm afraid. When he is needed most he disappears. No hardware for Ben or LSU this year unfortunately.

That was a pretty awful interview from him playing dumb as to why he can't win the Wooden Award, to calling himself the best player in the country. He came off as a smart arse and wasn't man enough to answer the ineligible for the Wooden Award question. Two more games and he can go get pushed around in the NBA like a rag doll.

Whatever agent he signs with had better get him hooked up with a media/people skills coach. To make big endorsement money you have to be likeable.

That may well be so.

He sounds and acts like a spoiled fricking brat. I forget what came it was but he was not getting the better part of the deal and he shoved a guy like a punk.

Didn't see the second half, but in the first half UK went on a 10-0 run, LSU needed to stop the bleeding and in that time frame Simmons didn't take a single shot. Twice he got the ball near the lane, and both times he turned his back to the goal and passed the ball out to his teammates. The $100 million dollar man refuses to try and carry his team. In high school he played at a basketball factory so all of his teammates were better than their opponents as well. Passing the ball to his teammates then always turned out okay because his entire team was more talented than their opponents. Now that the playing field is level he still refuses to be the best player and settles for passing the ball away.

Simmons should've taken some PR class.

Wouldn't have made a difference; he wouldn't have gone anyway.

The video is here under "Simmons: We have to win SEC Tournament."

He didn't say it like Ricky Bobby or anything.

At least two more. We should make it into the NIT.
