He's one of the best and I will rank him up there with the "better to best" of the MLB folks doing this kind of work.

Ben has a natural talent and I hope he's the "LSU Baseball Expert" for a very long time to come.

GRADE: A PLUS.

yea, he's fun to listen to and that's the first time I've said that in years. he come's from a pitcher's prospective, which is understandable, and has me guessing pitchers based on his info. the man is good. he tries to add stuff on the batters prospective but it just doesn't fly. guess he never batted.

Couldn't agree more. He helped me stay up last night to finish that game bc he constantly has you engaged in what's going on between batter/pitcher/catcher.

I agree. He is a natural and knows a lot about baseball. He may not have the "Brockmire" voice but he is entertaining and informative.

Agree. He is so much better than when he started that it's amazing. He will do whatever he wants. If he lived in Houston or Baltimore where there's a MLB club and he wanted to work, he would be working as a commentator.

Ben and Kyle Peterson are excellent. CBB has done a good job with their top two PBP men.

Ben has his priorities right, his family always comes first. ESPN has tried numerous times to make him a full time announcer but he does not like the travel time involved, as it would take him away from his family. Good guy all around, great LSU guy too.

I really didnt like him when he first started. He was such an obvious Lsu homer and came off as annoying. But man, i really really like listening to him now. He just makes his listeners smarter people

I really personally disliked Ben while we were in college . So It's not like I'm an LSU fanboy for athletes from my era. Now I think he is the absolute best at what he does. He's truly outstanding at his job and I tip my hat. I love it when Ben gets the call.

Agreed .... I also really like Kyle Peterson. Both are great. Not to mention Peterson let us crush his soul in Omaha.

He'd rather be at the hunting camp in Miss.

The last and maybe only time I have laughed out loud because of a baseball game broadcast was during the SEC tournament this year.

Two other announcers were doing the game and at one point this came up. Paraphrasing here.

1st announcer: "About half way through the rain delay yesterday, Ben was facetiming. I looked over and he was facetiming with his hunting dog".

2nd announcer: "That's a smart dog".

1st announcer: "Well, I don't think the dog answered the phone".
