Believing LSU will run the same offense next week is dumb...

I believe they will try to open it up in a big way - Ensminger isn't dumb enough to believe the SLU game style offense will work versus AU.

The question I have is this - did LSU gain much by not showing some of the formations to Auburn versus the benefit of doing so to get some real-game experience? That, to me, is the dilemma. We have young, inexperienced players who need quality reps - I also assume that Auburn will get the benefit of seeing some of the formations LSU used in a slightly more wide-open attack versus Miami. So, was there a true benefit to not running more formations versus SLU?

The coaches have explicitly said this did not happen.

is LSU the only team that still "hides" things against shite opponents? Its' always next week maaaaan they are really going to open it up!

Looking around college football, many of the good teams seem to have no issues rolling up offense on their tomato can opponents.

So you believe the coaches didn't hold anything back with respect to formations, schemes, play-calling for next week's game? And, that's all Ensminger has in his playbook to run??

I will say one thing. If they DO run the same offense against Auburn, I'll join the lynch mob.

Thinking LSU's issues on Saturday night were a result of the offense they ran is even dumber.

This whole idea that you run a vanilla offense and hide the real thing until you play good teams is stupid and has been proven false year after year.

Other teams run their full offense against weak teams that way they aren’t doing it for the first time against good competition.

Sure there are some wrinkles thrown in here and there based on game plan but the overall scheme is the same.

And LSUs scheme just isn’t very good. It isn’t suddenly changing next week.

If they say it, apparently I need to believe it.

Ok you win.

I'm happy now even though a part of me is saying...hmmm, they didn't run vanilla very well either

Guys, when was the last time you saw a coach/team change it's offensive identity during the season? It doesn't happen, which is why everyone knew Les' days were numbered after that Wisconsin loss in 2016. Everyone knew, that despite what he said, he and Cam had changed virtually nothing during the off season. That is what is happening here.

So you must believe that the fighting Ensminger offense has already perfected all the things that they could have worked on vs Southeastern? We are just hiding our hand huh?? Lmao

But what if that was all part of the ruse?

So basically we are to believe we couldnt execute a "vanilla" game plan against a crap opponent but we'll break out a more complicated version or the "real" offense against a far better opponent in one of the toughest environments in the country and won't step all over our dicks?

I’m sure Ensminger has everything from a halfback dive to the annexation of Puerto Rico in his playbook. But we will never run 99% of them agai st anyone.
