They know that he took LSU to the top of the mountain, and, in time, deep down know that he will do the same thing at Alabama and this pisses them off.

Bingo. People hate what they fear.

I dont hate him, I'm disappointed in the way he handled everything (LSU to Miami, Miami to Bama). I think he is a great coach and love his intensity. I live in Bham and listen to sports talk radio and TV sports news, everytime someone mentions LSU he and Terri have been class acts. Nothing but positive things to say about their time at LSU and the friends they made there... and the friends they still have there. My personal opinion listening to his comments, if he could do it over again he wouldnt have left LSU. I truly believe he and Terri loved Baton Rouge and LSU, as we all do, and wish they had stayed. But we all make decisions in life we think are best for our families and they turn out differently. I think it speaks volumes when speaks highly of the people, the city, and our team when someone mentions LSU.

I'll put this in terms a gump can comprehend.
You live in taylorville, AL, with your girlfriend, krystal. She was cheating on you and eventually leaves to go to the big city and be with the big, rich guy in Miami. Fine, he had something you couldn't offer her. Best of luck krystal.
Turns out krystal was a failure and got kicked to the curb by the rich guy.
Next thing you know, she takes up with your most hated first cousin cletus, who lives in Englewood, AL.
You've moved on and found another, but still gotta see that nappy ho around town with your most hated cousin clete. Just not much fun.

strike 1: announcing his hiring the day we play in the Sugar Bowl

strke 2: saying LSU won the Sugar Bowl because of him

strike 3: waiting till bama was playing LSU in basketball to introduce saban to the bama student body during halftime!!!!

the 3rd strike is the one that really pisses me off. that was planned for maximum effect!!! so don't tell me i should get over it.

You forgot the part where krystal tells all the women folk at the reunion how you weren't all that good in bed until she came along and made a sex-god out of you!!!

Saban didn't turn LSU around by his lonesome. There was a total commitment from donors, LSU, and the fan base. That he headed it up, there is no denying. That it will go back to where it was is doubtful. Look at the facilities and support now compared to where it was before. If Miles can't keep us competitive, it will be someone else. This is where the gumps don't get it, because it was all in place for them before most were born. That is why they are such a spoiled fan base and have the mindset that everything is as they left it in the SEC, and now they are going to march through the SEC every year with Saban. I guess just like we did in 04. Its not going to ever be the same again for them or us.

I respect Sabans knowledge of football, particularly on defense and he did the job LSU hired him to do while he was here in BR. However, he's just not a very nice person. I'm not one who believes you have to be a prick to be successful. I used to get aggravated at him while listening to his press conferences at LSU. Then you throw in all that weird stuff he said after Alabama lost to ULM and it makes you wonder just how in touch with reality (outside of football) he really is.

That's just a stupid comment. How old are you? Moving from college football to the NFL is an obvious move up the ladder career-wise. He simply decided he didn't like it once he got there and came back to college where he belongs. He took a pay cut to come to Alabama. How can you say all he cares about is money? Why so many of you want to bring your child-like grudges into it, I just don't understand.

In all honesty, I didn't like him much when he was at LSU, he was a yankee carpet-bagger and proved to be just that.
he left michigan st because he saw what LSU could be and just fueled that fire. he failed in the nfl and then jumped into another situation that was ready to be fueled.
he's at bama, the team I dislike the most in all of college football. I haven't developed any hatred for him, but still don't care for him. I hope we beat them every year we face them and that yankee carpet-bagger gets run out of town like the gumps have done to every coach since the bear... Who, by the way, is still dead.

I wasn't aware that it was still the 1860's. At any rate, Saban is from West Virginia. Yes, the same west viriginia that is in the south.

All the RANTards who have never diplomatically lied in their life, have a good reason to hate him.

I appreciate and respect him as a coach and think he is the main reason why LSU is enjoying the golden era of LSU football.
