Nick Saban? As best I can tell, the only negative thing he's said about LSU since going to Bama is the comments he made to recruits about his building LSU to the status it is now.

Saban is a good coach. He left LSU to pursue his dream of coaching in the pros. Like Steve Spurrier, Lou Holtz and Pete Carroll, he learned that he is best in a college environment. You can't fault him for taking the Bama job. My guess is, most people would have done what he did.

So, again, why the strong emotions about him?

He lied, announced on Christmas Day. He lied, announced on the day of our Sugar Bowl game. Need I go on?

I don't hate or like him. Same as he was in my eyes when he coached here. I thought he was an arse but a great coach. He still is...and I don't blame him for going to Bama.

I root against Bama for the same reason I root against Auburn- they represent our biggest obstacles in the West and getting to Atlanta every year.

But he didn't lie to LSU fans.... true... he didn't handle that situation the best. Outside of that... why is their hatred?

I mean, do Florida fans hate Spurrier?

They know that he took LSU to the top of the mountain, and, in time, deep down know that he will do the same thing at Alabama and this pisses them off.

I don't hate him or even dislike him, but just like any other coach who brings a team into Tiger Stadium, I hope he gets his arse kicked Saturday

Where he chose to go hurts LSU.

I don't like the fact that we have to face him every year because... Bama has the tradition and resources to be great in football. Add Saban to the equation and you have potential for a juggernaut. But... it's a free world... He can coach where he wants to.

Because (and most fans won't admit it), we wished he would have stayed here...
Instead, he screwed us over to go to Miami (he handled it very poorly) and now, not only is he trying to screw us over again by coming back to a college team, but he is doing it with Alabama for god's sake.

My hatred increased also every time someone mentioned Miles winning with his players...

Do you really think he would have come back to LSU if our job had been open? I mean... Spurrier passed on Florida because he felt he had "already done that."

I don't hate Nick Saban, good coach, did good things here. Disappointed when he left, but in hindsight, we have Les Miles and another national championship so I'm glad that he did.

Yes - even today he talks about his friends in Baton Rouge......and not just Candy.

I think Les Miles is a good man and a good recruiter. I'm sorry, but I don't think he's the strategist or the game day coach that Saban is. But... Miles is a good coach.

Oh yes he did. He lied for over 2 months about talking to the Dolphins. Called a press conference to say he wasn't going anywhere and then left a few weeks later.

It's the school he chose to return too.

I would be fine with him coaching at any SEC school except the Gumps or the Rebels.

That being said, I don't hate him, just want the team he now coaches to get their arse whipped

Florida's AD chose not to go after Spurrier, not the other way around, if I remember correctly.

He may have lied.. I don't remember that sequence very well. I remember reading somewhere that in hindsight, he never really wanted to go to Miami but the Dolphins owner basically did a good sales job.

Honestly... honestly... unless LSU plays close to a perfect game Saturday.. how many of you expect LSU to beat Bama?
