I did concede in the other post that I would be ok with such a suspension with full pay and benefits for said accused murder/rapist teacher.

I copied and pasted this from you OP:

But being arrested should never be an "automatic suspension." And that goes for everything in life.

You are flip flopping back and forth.

I don't blame you, though.

Yep, it's made national news and Miles really doesn't have a choice

Oh really we don't have a choice because Coach Lou and Kirk Herbstreit say we have to suspend him?

Just because the media calls for something does NOT mean it's right.

The Duke kids were at the stripper party.

Pls stop with the Duke comparison

Duke, players at a party
LSU, players at a bar

Duke, rape accusations
LSU, battery accusations

Duke, no evidence
LSU, video and eyewitness evidence

Are you trying to say JJ is accused of rape?

Shouldn't be an automatic suspension from anything just because you're arrested/accused/indicted.

Why don't you copy my full response instead of leaving off my explanation?

You would be perfect at finding quotes for Rachel Maddow.

Video? I don't know about you, but I couldn't tell shite from that video.

Just because you have an eyewitness account doesn't mean they are infallable. Sounds like the star witness is best friends with the "victim." I'm just saying that justice will run its course.

Both felonies. Obciously duke had a bigger potential penalty.

Someone posted this earlier, but the witnesses did not watch the fight on video. They were very, very close

There were no witnesses, no video or no rape in the Duke case. But there is NO DOUBT that someone got kicked while they were lying on the ground.

Rational people understand what is happening. Miles and LSU do not have a choice at the present time.

Miles is getting it over with and can bring back JJ in a couple of games regardless of whether he is convicted later.

So why even have a trial? Let's just make him a convicted felon and skip all this trial nonsense. Saves taxpayer money.

There are lots of mitigating circumstances even if he did kick the guy in the head.

And....like I said earlier.....he may be deserving of being completely kicked out of LSU and prison time. But we don't know that right now.

You don't know all the facts, and neither do I.

I don't believe eye witness hearsay until I get their credibility and potential motive and viewpoint and possible intoxication level.

Neither should you.

You think JJ should come back on this team if he is convicted of a felony?

Yikes.

The Duke players were INNOCENT. All charges dropped before trial and the prosecuting DA was DISBARRED for misconduct.

I did also bring up Casey Anthony. She's innocent in my book. No proof. Gotta have proof or you have nothing.

Believe what you want. Lack of evidence is not evidence of lack. Meaning you can have no evidence, but it may still be out there or the person may still be guilty.

For Casey they had evidence, but didn't frame it properly. BS that is where the price of the attorney comes into play. In a majority of cases it would have gotten a guilty verdict. It all comes down to working the legal system.

I suppose despite the faulty statements and bloody shirt you think Kobe is innocent too right?

I highly doubt JJ will be convicted of anything before this season concludes. The legal process isn't normally this swift.

If charges do not end up being dropped, Miles has done a "preemptive strike" and JJ has served his suspension and will be able to play while the case is spending.

What does this even mean? Sounds like a failed attempt at philosophy.

I paid attention to that trial. They did not have evidence and they framed it as well as possible. They just had a bunch of circumstantial evidence that was a bunch of lines and they could be connected in several different patterns.

quote:

In a majority of cases it would have gotten a guilty verdict

That's why I'm horrified at the thought of being wrongly accused of a crime where there is nothing but circumstantial but no hard evidence.

Kobe was innocent. He did not rape that woman.

The witnesses were Lowery and the girl that was with him at 6:10 that morning.

That's not that much different than the stripper in the Duke Lacrosse case.
