Joe Alleva should be fired before the bowl game if they go 8-4.
Can you tell me the games you think LSU will win? Auburn, Bama, and UGA are very very likely losses and wouldn't be shocking to see LSU drop a couple extra games or maybe even more.

I’m sticking with my prediction of 8-4.
But in no way should that be considered an accomplishment or success. We fired a national championship-winning coach for 8-4 seasons. It should at the very least get the AD fired for hiring Orgeron.
10-2 or better is the standard, regardless of who is the head coach.

The 2011 team was way better entering the year.
I don't know man. All I've been hearing is:
-Miles was a bad coach and that O is better
-Miles couldn't recruit the trenches and that O is better
-JJ sucked and we have 2 all conference QBs to choose from
-The best group of WRs in the history of the program
-Obviously have the best coordinators in the country
-Sullivan is the best WR coach ever
-Cregg is the best OL coach in college or pro
-Fehoko is the second coming of Glenn Dorsey
-The defense is going to be top 2 in the conference (same as 2011)
I guess with all of that going for this team I don't see why they shouldn't be even better than the '11 team.

Miami can't stack up with us - it's that simple - Our D will shut them down and
they are going to stop our run like the rest of the world thinks
Big surprise in our passing attack coming - you don't see it - Miami will not see it coming
Ok I finally get it. You just make up things and then believe them.
I'm with you now.

nope
don't make em up - just say what I see
let's do this - one game at a time - Miami is a Win
by the time I walk into Jerry's World I will be believing in 12-0

Why not, it’s April. I’m in.

I'd say no. Dereck's underlings won't ever post a win-loss prediction.

The truth is the CEO unlike 99% of all head coaches understands his mistakes and he talks about how he messes up. I think that O made a bad hire and there is no excuse coming from me for him hiring Canada. But what I love is after the MSU and Troy game the wheels got rolling to do the best they could with the issue and make a change.
That's a good quality to have.
The problem is O makes mistakes that competent HCs don't make.

That's my reservation as well Goldie, he seems to be a step behind on fixing situations instead of being a step ahead and preventing them.

Before the spirng game I am making this Bold Statement
Here is mine:
There will be tons of bitching and moaning and groaning and generalizations made about what is going to happen in the fall based on one stupid scrimmage.
But that isn't a bold statement because this happens after EVERY spring game.

Here’s the thing, LSU is going to struggle on offense against good defenses this year. There is going to be a learning curve, not only for the QB’s but for the coaches as they are figuring out the offensive system themselves.
I can see them beating Miami. Obviously not a gimme, though. New QB better hit the ground running.
LSU typically struggles mightily at Auburn, especially with green QBs. No objective reason to think they win there this year.
Florida will be well coached and O was already “what and what” with the shark humper. If the game was at LSU, I’d favor LSU, but in the swamp with green QBs will be tough. Likely a close loss here.
No objective reason to pick LSU to beat UGA. They are well coached, Have a good QB who is now a veteran with big game experience and have recruited at Bama level since Kirby got there. Very likely a loss here, hopefully LSU keeps it close.
MS State has played LSU extremely well recently. LSU should win this game being at home, but if the new coach is good, this could be a very interesting one.
Bama will have a video game offense with the Polynesian at QB. He’s the most dynamic playmaker they’ve had in a long, long time. They’ve won with D and power running largely in spite of their QBs under Saban. It could get scary for everyone else with this kind of threat under center for the Tide. No objective reason to think LSU keeps it within single digits even at home.
Texas A&M still has a way to go to nut up to LSU, but at home under a new coach things could get sticky. Hopefully Jimbo takes a while to find his franchise QB and instill toughness into that program. Likely LSU win but not as easy as it’s been.
In reality 9-3 is the best case scenario unless you think every ball bounces their way and every new player is light out as is the new offense. 11-1 is a blind homer’s best case scenario.
Worst case is 6-6 which is more likely than 11-1.
I think they go 8-4 with losses to Au, UGA and Bama and go 3-1 vs Miami, Fla, State, and A&M with the loss coming against Fla due to the home field adv.

For me this is why E was an inexcusable hire.
It makes no sense to hire a guy you like to learn an offense you like.

i'm ok with Blind homer

I’ll be honest, if we look half way competent at the Spring Game I’m all about the train.

Being somewhat of an underdog is how I grew up thinking about LSU football (80s) but also with a team of great athletes that you think can surprise people.
I think we'll be in a lot of close games and could achieve that type of success if the ball bounces our way here and there. Good to know that our defense should be elite to go along with an offense that has a huge upside.
If we crash and burn, I'll get depressed about that during the season. For now, it's much more fun to think about what can go right.
