99% sure of this. Its 100% the right play.

More rest between games 1 & 2

Less chance of weather delays until late

I know this thread wont stop the melts, but hopefully it can start to soften the blow for some

If we’re pitching Hurd in game one I’m ok with another 9:30 start tbh. Coffee-fueled thatcher shoves

That’s 7:30 AM West Coast time. Thatcher must be a morning person.

I get it from a strategic standpoint, but that first Friday game is always hot AF and it’s not real fan friendly either.

And it’s the best decision for your team too. Ball should be carrying too. Bats will be hot.

I like that and we better pitch Floyd against the #4
No chance for a frick up with another pitcher

You know what else isnt fan friendly? Weather delays and your team possibly losing from being tired from having to play all night

Not after what we just saw from Hurd.

I don’t recall the team ever losing due to being “tired” from a weather delay.

So do you not see how a long weather delay in game 1 or 2 would push game 2 deeper into the night? Meaning the teams in game 2 would be playing later? Do you not see how that might increase the liklihood of fatigue?

Its not a difficult concept. You don't take that chance with your season is on the line if you can avoid it, whether its happened before or not.

Plus you might avoid the issues with burning pitchers because of a rain delay.

Not gonna melt but, i prefer later games. Mostly because i like more tailgate time.

Also forecast shows 10%,20%,20% rain for fri, sat, sun

Im pretty sure we all do. But I absolutely understand the advantage of playing the early game.
