I graduated in 1986 and seem to recall the athletic department considering the possibility of selling beer in Tiger Stadium at some point during the early- to mid-80s.
Does anyone else remember this or is it Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)?

It's not an SEC rule dumb frick.

If those West Virginia trash can handle it then LSU could...it's a precedent but not a rule in SEC. Everybody is waiting for somebody to do it first then they will follow. It will catch on soon, too much revenue missed

Last time I checked, USL errr ULL is not in the SEC.
In the season ticket package there is a book in which it was stated that SEC. rules do not allow the sale of alcohol in non premium seating.

In the stadium club the liquor flows.

To the OP:
No, in the actual stadium .....it won't happen. The stadium is property of LSU and the state of Louisiana. There is a specific code banning alcohol sales / consumption in these facilities within the state of Louisiana. SEC has nothing to do with it. ULM and ULL are in violation of this code. La Tech serves BBQ and ice cream..., no alcohol in their dump of a suite. Actually, ULM has the best suite set up - just a horrible on the field product....so they took down the tvs in the lower level suits because everyone watched the espn night game instead...back on topic.
The east, west and soon south expansions ARE NOT CONNECTED to TS. This was because of two factors: 1) the stadium facade and concrete would provide no tangible support for the addition (latech failed a stadium inspection in the late 90s due to what engineers think was caused by their Pressbox / skybox expansion in the 80s...state inspectors took note..,,also, ULL's visitor side is ready for expansion now.....the foundation and structure support is in place...,even if they had the money the state would probably decline any proposal that did not include significant work to the existing framework 2) taf officials wanted ensure no problem with alcohol sales. There is a 99 year ground lease with taf and lsu/state of Louisiana. Alcohol can be purchased sold in these parts that overlook the field / stadium.

SEC officially maintains this beer policy: “No alcoholic beverages shall be sold or dispensed for public consumption anywhere in the facility and the possession and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages in the public areas of the facility shall be prohibited.
Link to said rule? Because it honestly does not exist

Now you've stumped them
It's because if LSU wants to sell beer they could.
Sold beer in there for the saints games in 2005 too.

Go look at the Uppers. They are not supported by the lower bowl in any way. But it has nothing to do with selling alcohol.

It would be nice, but the beers will be 8 bucks a piece and there will be even more assholes in the stands.

So do like West Virginia and Louisville do and hire extra security both uniformed and non and stop serving beer after the first TV time out of the 3rd quarter or make it simple and end it when half time is over.
Those schools make it work (very well)
Or Have we just conceded that we don't have someone smart enough to get this done?
