This isn't exactly the time of year to give people "looks".

So we are heading to the postseason with solid starters at 8/9 spots and no confidence at anyone on the bench because we haven't given them enough looks before to see if any of them are worth a start or even a pinch hit?

I agree with giving him some pine time, but it takes a real dumbass to attack players so badly that banning is suggested. I hope he's gone (not Beau).

Woley has played in 23 games, 8 starts, 43 ABs.

Romero has played in 32 games, 21 starts, 93 ABs.

Reid has played in 20 games, 3 starts, 20 ABs.

How the hell is that not enough "looks" to see if they can make an impact? Reid is hitting 0.150 with a 0.150 slg% for fricks sake.

It's 28 plate appearances actually. So basically 7 games worth... or 12.5% of the regular season.

Beau seems to have his mind made up to swing when he walks up to the batter's box.

Swings at way too many low and away pitches almost automatically.

Never patient when in the box.

He's very, very aggressive. Only 12 walks. I don't think he's some great hitter. Hell, he's our 9th "best" hitter and unfortunately at the DH spot which is just sad. Not for him but for the other players who couldn't get a hold of the position.

i root for beau every time i see him in the lineup. every time he steps up to the plate i think " this is the one". But, more times than not..it's not. Still one of my favorite players.

As are the other DH's we've tried this year.
It is what it is.

he has at bats where he is the only player working the count, then sometimes he just blindly swings at 3 straight pitches no matter what lol. He does the job, has had clutch hits for us this year. Leave him in

I have no idea why he got buried earlier in the year. He deserved more chances the last month and a half.

It looks like Beau is here to stay but Paul has got to get him outta the 6th hole. I'd start working Watson back up and see how he responds.

Coomes and Jordan following Deichmann is handicapping your best power hitter.

If they make a change, I would rather see Deichmann and Duplantis switch in the 3/4 spots. I wouldn't move Paps or Watson form the 8 and 9 spots. Production from the 8 and 9 hole is huge.

I wanted to see slaughter as a defensive replacement late in the game yesterday. Coomes isn't producing enough not to give slaughter some at bats.

I'm not sure what you do about Beau. I just don't think there's a better option at DH.

Y'all are so worried about who follows Deichmann that you don't realize what he does for Freeman and Duplantis. They are seeing a ton of good pitches because of him and it shows. And Kramer is NOT batting 4th again. Period. The top 4 are not and should not change. Pap is seeing fastballs at 8. Watson is doing so well turning the lineup over. So that leaves Coomes, Smith and Beau for the 5, 6, 7. I'll take them in that order.

KRob
Freeman
Duplantis
Deichmann
Coomes
Smith
Beau
Pap
Watson
