Losing 3 games is now “incredibly close” to making the playoffs? When did that become the case? We were close, not incredibly close, to winning 2 games. We got killed in a third. That’s closer to being S Carolina than it is to being a playoff contender.

He has to be. Otherwise he would have to blame O. That will never happen.

Not happening under Oeaux. He has had 3 at least very big games and has lost all three. Loss to Florida his interim year. Loses to ND last year in the Bowl game and now loses to the Aggies. Just doesn't have what it takes to get us to the next level. Les Miles Part Deaux. Let me rephrase the part about Miles. Miles part 2 in his later years at LSU.

If Orgeron's staff leads, a competent one btw, perhaps that could happen.

Of his own self and competency, Orgeron is a PE teacher who graduated from Northwestern, a good teacher's college, and I am not saying Orgeron learned pedagogy at Northwestern.

I have zero faith in Orgeron's resume and I think he successfully bamboozled that Dollar Store AD who occupies the top position at LSU Athletics. I believe Alleva is very lazy and incompetent. He will stand for nothing, this Alleva, and THAT IS WHY WE ARE SADDLED WITH ED ORGERON AS HC OF OUR FB PROGRAM. It all pizzes me off grandly.
We are the Dollar Store Model in the SEC. And I am certain that Dollar General would never hire that lazy Alleva.

a 1 loss LSU team, with a loss to Alabama, would absolutely be in the playoffs. we were close to beating florida and aTm. so yeah, id call it respectable season and given this is orgeron's first full year as a HC, with this absurdly tough schedule, it would be asinine to make the definitive statement that he is not capable of making the playoffs.

I can. In fact, I think there's a strong chance we make the playoffs next year.

I think getting 9 wins and losing 2 nail bitters with this team and this schedule this season was pretty strong.

We had a new QB, OC and very few returning starters on offense and a patch-work job all year with the OLine. And we lost one of our best defensive players early in the season.

Next years team will have 3, maybe 4 new starters on Offense with a returning Senior at QB. We will lose 3-4 studs off the defense, but I'm sure we'll still be strong.

Coach O has us trending in the right direction. I'll say yes. He can get us to the playoffs.

"The two losses this year had nothing to do with the head coach". Are you joking?

I'm conflicted on this because I really hated his hire and I still don't think it was a good idea

But I also look at this team and see a team with significant Talent issues in the trenches no matter what people want to try and claim.

So this year we came a couple of horrible calls away from being 10 and 2 despite having just above average running backs all new receivers a truly horrible offensive line and a very mediocre defensive line. And a first-year starting quarterback who just entered the program in the summer.

So part of me says if you can do that when you have talent issues maybe if those Talent issues get fixed you can do better.

But another part of me looks and doesn't feel that great about what are defensive line or offensive line look like next year. And frankly once Burrow is gone I don't have that much confidence and what's coming behind him yet.

his team looks at least 2 years from being a complete team to me again. And that's assuming that we recruit very well.

I think he has a shot but in order to do it he's going to have to bring in someone else as offensive coordinator if for no other reason than recruits simply aren't excited by our current one

Yes Most of our problem is we have fallen behind in talent on the line of scrimmage

We have finally built a QB talent pipeline. We appear to,have reloaded the RB pipeline.
With Chase and Marshall Palmer coming in we have reloaded WR.
