Familiarity breeds contempt. It just particularly sucks for us because not many metro areas of BR’s size produce the amount of talent in comparison.

And there’s no such thing as loyalty anymore. That’s a society-wide issue.

I said “core over the past 3-4 years” 2 years ago, all 3 starters were from Baton Rouge. I’m not talking about today. I gave an example. But in summary, you answer is bc most of them need to get out of the city and lack of recruiting. Got it.

1. You don't know me, so don't you dare call me racist.

2. N.B.R. is much different than LSU-Fact

3. I never said every player from baton rouge was from the ghetto or even implied that. No one specifically stated anything about alsbury or any other specific player

4. To act like the majority of football talent, or baton rouge for that matter, isn't from the ghetto is disingenuous at best

5. Kids from parkview, catholic, etc should be just as proud to represent their community as kids from anywhere else. You reading into something that wasn't there as more of an indictment on you than it is on me

My answer is we didn't recruit, or even offer some of them (Harris, Gilbert, Ausberry).

Coaching changes (Moses and Allen) often shake things up as well.

Then, there is the case of someone like Moss, who has committed to 2 out of state programs already this cycle, and it is widely reported that he needs to get out of town. That, unfortunately, happens in south Louisiana.

ETA: I see what you're saying, but I just don't like the idea that schools come in and take all of Baton Rouge's finest at will. It's extremely rare that anyone out of LA signs with someone other than LSU, when LSU starts out on the same foot as another program.

Landon Collins and Ish Sophser are some of the very few examples of LSU just getting beat on the trail.

ETA 2: It's really a biproduct of Alabama just having an unprecedented level of stability and success. As I think about players not coming here because of coaching uncertainty (Allen, Moses, a few this year), I realized that that doesn't happen at Alabama because Saban is Sabam

All the talk of north Louisiana being the recruiting issue for LSU, yet BR seems to be the most difficult area to get commitments. What’s the deal? Alabama’s LB core the past 3-4 years is a key example

North LA hasn't been an issue in a while

UHigh is an issue
Amite and the surrounding areas are an issue

You’re not exactly helping yourself here when you say that only people from NBR experience a change of scenery being at LSU.

Be honest...if you have spent any time on LSU campus, you know it's Catholic high lite, and half the kids from Parkview, Episcopal, etc... attend LSU and have spent a ton time on campus before their enrollment

Now you are coming off very “poor kids are just as bright as white kids”

The change of scenery excuse is bs. If Tuscaloosa and college station produced the talent BR area did those kids wouldn’t be leaving those cities for other sec programs.

That’s a fair assessment… I’m sick of everything Alabama. Need parity.

What if they went to school on those campuses for 15 years and their parents worked there?

Some kids just want to get away for college. It's not crazy. shite I sure as hell didn't want to stay in New Orleans to go to college.

Not true. Harris had an offer in March of the yr he signed with Bama. Aranda wanted him to camp at LSU to get evaluated and he would not do it but LSU offered anyway...

It wasn't a committable offer.
