Was thinking the same thing! How can baseball come out with their full 2018 schedule but basketball not have theirs locked in yet? It's not like the season is 3 months away.

It was strange that the baseball schedule was released before the basketball schedule. The season starts in just 3 months! I'm impatiently waiting for it to be released.

I guess it takes time to schedule real competition out of conference instead of losing to cupcakes.

I'll tell you something else that I've always found odd. They want you to buy season tickets before the schedule is even released. You don't even know what games that you're paying for, except for the SEC games. You are blindly purchasing tickets hoping that the games scheduled will not all be cupcakes.

I would expect any day now. Typically the schedule has been released in late July or early August in previous years.

When the SEC releases the conference schedule sometime this month. Baseball is usually always released before basketball is anyway.

The SEC has already released the conference home and away games. They just haven't released the dates yet.

Not sure what they have coming back, but those last four teams were all decent to very good.

Full schedule was released September 6th last season. It's typically a late summer announcement.

Baseball schedule is announced before basketball every season. This isn't anything new.

it just seems odd that basketball starts in 3 1/2 months and we don't have the full schedule vs baseball which doesn't start till almost march 7 months away has everything out

There is a lot more logistics to be worked out for men's hoops. CBS/ESPN pay a hell of a lot more money for hoops than baseball, and they try to maximize ratings and exposure
This is the same reason they don't have kickoff times until 12 days before football games.

Houston is the best team of the bunch.

UNCW lost their coach to NC State
SFA is trending down since Brad Underwood left for OSU (then Illinois)

Memphis is train wreck right now with essentially every impact player transferring out at the end of last season

That said, every one of those teams COULD be good (you never know until the games are played). But on paper it doesn't look to be the case.

I think Wade has two are three more games to fill. LSU isn't a part of the Big 12/SEC challenge this year, so hopefully he can add at least one more power conf. opponent (preferably at home) to the schedule

That's beacuse the basketball schedule is more heavily reliant on what TV wants because every game is on TV. The only changes TV makes to baseball is whether to have a series start on Thursday instead of Friday.

We don't need a challenging OOC schedule this season. Let the man build our program gradually over the next three seasons.

And, most baseball and MBB fans buy season tickets to support our program and not just based on us playing top teams. LSU MBB needs fans who buy season tickets automatically and dont fret over the lack of big, OOC home games.
