Then we went undefeated on the road in the SEC. Like I said previously, this team will be fine. Will we win the SEC and go undefeated on the road? No, but we will be a top 5 SEC team and make the dance again. Also, for the 100th time, the lack of size does not bother this team. Last week everyone was bitching about no size and no shot blocking and getting killed on the boards and not scoring in the paint...etc. we have out rebounded every team we have played this year.

Our biggest issue is the lack of a primary ball handler. Mays, Smart, and Bishop are all capable. It will just take some time to tweak things out. Have a little faith in your coach, he will figure things out. Hell, we had worse losses at this point last year and went on to win the damn SEC.

2 years ago LSU beat Michigan by 2, who ended up playing in the title game

LSU went 18-15, 8-10.

Just cause last years team came out of it doesn’t mean this years will. The talent is clearly different.

LSU was supposed to turn the corner into an up
And coming basketball power. You don’t get these games back. This team isn’t good enough to make some huge run to make up for it. They’ll be very hot & cold all year.

What about the 50 point halves they allowed to BOTH VCU and USU? LSU averaged 80 points and 50% shooting in those two games. Away from home. That kind of production should be enough to win.

Absolutely turnovers have been a big issue. But for a team that is STILL scoring and shooting well despite the TO’s the ability to play more than one half of good defense would have resulted in wins

So, what’s your point? LSU could be on the opposite side of that argument.

I agree you don’t get these games back, but you do learn from them. Utah State is a top 15 team, when playing our best we were the better team.

I disagree with the talent being different. Naz, KBW, and Waters brought a different skill set. This team is very close as far as talent goes. We just have to leave to play a different style.

I don’t remember Waters getting benched, but I’ll take your word for it.

We’ve got a long way to go, but this team’s start hasn’t been good.

Hopefully we can turn things around, but this looks like a middle of the road team so far that may barely make the NCAA Tournament, or even miss it.

I’m not trying to be a huge homer and rock strictly purple and gold glasses, but y’all have to realize who our losses are to at this point. VCU is one of the hardest places to play, they rolled out a veteran team. VCU is a tourney team who could win a game or two. Utah State will win 30+ games this season and could be a dark horse for a deep run in the tournament.

Please go look at who we lost to early on last year.

VCU and Utah State are future 10/11 seeds that we should beat.

Just my opinion, we won’t know for sure until March.

I think it’s completely ok to find yourself on both sides of the fence with this team.

First thing is, this team is going to improve leaps and bounds from now until the tournament. Anyone who says they won’t is a moron.

There are things I see that I really like, and then there are things that I see that I don’t like, and I’m not sure if they’re fixable. I’ll call it like I see it, there are only three guys that have really played worth a damn so far this season, and that’s Skylar, Days, and Emmitt. Manning has been ok.

Javonte is the guy that worries me. He is a mess offensively, he’s shooting 32% from the field and has 19 asts to 22 turns. I’m going to be honest, I think he’s in over his head. I think he will get better, but he will be a negative player offensively all season.

Then Watford. I don’t want to be harsh on the kid, but he’s been bad so far, on both ends. But I also think he’s kind of the x-factor, because I think he has the ability to improve drastically. He seems uncomfortable right now, doesn’t really know his role and is still trying to adjust to the college game. He’s a guy I can see a light coming on for offensively. Defensively though, yikes. Bad isn’t even a good word for it. He’s a liability, and that I’m not sure is fixable. Like Javonte, it will get better, but I don’t think ever to the point where’s he’s even a net neutral, much less a positive.

But with all that said, this team is still just a few bounces from being 5-0. If you just look on the floor, they’ve been ok. Satisfied isn’t the right word, but they’re laying the ground work.

That’s exactly my point

Everyone keeps saying that because it happened last year it will happen this year.

There is no more parallel there then what there was in 2017

Your point means nothing and is such a basic concept with no depth that it isn’t worth a thread all I’m saying

A guard oriented team that can’t shoot and have small big men who can’t stretch either isn’t a good combo my dude

Last years team had 5 players that could take over a game in different ways. Think about that.

This team 2 players like that. Maybe 3 if Watford develops. But neither of the guards are interested in making anyone better. This is a fringe tournament that is going to need a lot to go their way

Might be a little of maturity and focus? Seemed like they relaxed some after the 21 point lead, thought they had the game in the bag and things came undone in a hurry.

Smart is a ball hog that takes stupid shots, and makes too many turnovers. This team is rudderless without a Point Guard
