And it’s always the Wade haters who bring him up. It’s for a duel purpose, to avoid talking basketball or McMahon which they can’t and don’t want to since the facts make their narratives look silly and 2 as a signal to other like them to come and help create a group that offsets their poor arguments with numbers. Basically mob mentality.
Exactly.

It's like a "I don't care about LSU MBB" - oh, you mentioned Wade...

"Bat signal". Alarms going off. Need to post on TD for shite I don't know or care about.

ETA: My use of " and " and other quotation marks will stand.

It has to be NCAA tournament or bust. Just showing improvement and being a bubble team won't cut it in year 4

It has to be NCAA tournament or bust, because "showing improvement" in this era of college basketball can largely be meaningless given the significant yearly roster turnover. Any "improvement" you show in one year may not mean very much when you have 8, 9, 10 different players the next year.

A great coach today has to be able to build a 1-year roster...have great success with that roster...then start (nearly) from scratch the next season and do it again, and again, and again. The "long term" outlook for a CBB in building a roster is no longer 2-3 years. It's appx. 10 months. Is that a very tough path to sustained success? Yep. But it doesn't matter. That's the way of the sport now.

If after 4 seasons McMahon has shown he's incapable to taking 4 different rosters to, at least, the NCAA Tournament, then why would anyone expect year 5 to be any different when it will be another significantly new roster?

It’s a distraction they use and they know the actual fans enjoyed LSU having success during that period so they know delegitimizing the era pisses the fans off.

I think now that Will Wade took another job they'll be more willing to get rid of him if this season goes like we think it will

The last thing they wanted was to have the pressure of a hiring a new coach with Will Wade just down the road looking for another job

Woody needed Wade to be off the table, along with thinking he knows best.

Sunk cost ++ Ego.

And that's not Wade at all. It's Woodward.

Do for me now.

Wife's account, who did he pay? Can you name a player on that team? Or any other?

Always the same bullshite.

Every coach was paying players... John Wooden had a handler paying players in the pyramid of success.

Coach Cal got 3 programs to the Final Four and on probation.

What's you're standard, high and mighty.

Wade lead 3 different programs to the NCAAT by the age of 40.

I dislike disingenuous people like you. You don't even mean what you say, nor do you take any ownership. Same old nonsense.

Ah, the old "everyone was paying players" argument. So EVERY coach payed players? Seems like you're making an absolute statement to fit your argument. I remember these same boards talking about how stagnant the offense was when he was here. There's so much recency bias on this board it's comical. Y'all don't remember all he did was "play street ball"?? Now, since he's gone and we have a struggling coach, everyone wants him back.

My standard for a good coach? A guy that can win at a high level, no matter who his players are. Calpari is a horrible example. He was on probation, yes but the guy has sent almost 60 players to the NBA and has only won 1 national championship. That would be a coach that under achieved in my opinion.

Where does "high and mighty" come from? Do you have to plant these things to get everyone to think I think I'm superior to everyone else? I just stated some facts for you. You don't have to get so sensitive and personal. It's going to be ok. He went 18-15(8-10) 9th in the SEC his first year, and then brought the bags of cash with him, and started winning. You can't really argue that.

Wade hasn't lead anyone to anything without paying players is all I've said. It's a 100% fact. You don't think someone before NIL won anything without paying players? Where is your proof? You just like talking and not providing any data other than your own assumptive logic. If he can win the ACC then, you will have a point to what you and others say, but until then, I guess we wait.

I 100% mean what I say, and I don't take ownership of what? Who are you to assume those things?

The guy that says I am "high and mighty" now doesn't have time to deal with me? You're a very emotional person. Crazy to get personal like that on here man. Usually people get defensive when they have nothing left to argue, but ok. Stop responding to me then, I feel like I'm getting a female response, but who am I to assume you're not one? I guess that's my bad. I don't come on here for likes, I state my opinion and go on about my day, it's not life or death. I don't care about LSU MBB? I'm not on a post in 2025 taking a thread about "basketball next month" and spinning it into an "I miss Wade" post. That's not an LSU fan. LSU fans talk about this year's team.
