Basketball and Baseball fans: the guide to coexisting while both sports are relevant

This is the first year in some time that both baseball and basketball will be relevant at the same time. A few tidbits for the trolls and retards:
1) Multiple threads on both sports is fine. There is no :insert sport: season with both teams playing very well.
2) Yes. It is possible to be a fan of both and focus on both.
3) Don’t antagonize those who only focus on just one. Just because you enjoy both or only a single sport at a time doesn’t mean it’s wrong for others to only follow the opposite.
4) When basketball ends (whenever that is), baseball fans should not mock the ending up to but not including a championship, which obviously won’t be mocked. This team is too good for that. You’ll deserve the ridicule.
5) When a fan of a specific sport acts an arse towards fans of the opposite sport, that “fan” does not reflect the entire fan base of said sport. Don’t hold it against the rest.
6) Finally, enjoy the extra attention and activity on the board. Many of us are hardcore fans and have been for years. When the “football” fans show up in force, it’s good for the program but also a good time to feel superior as they needlessly melt over results and stats and plays they don’t understand. We can unite in shaming them.

Why can't we just enjoy all the male sports?

That’s the point. The last one was slightly tongue and cheek.

Ive never understood why its so hard for some fans to follow this common sense set of rules

I hope it helped you, poncho.

People IRL are generally nice. People who can hide behind anonymity are generally mean.

Because they’re idiots. The fact that we even need a guide, to help them be a supporting fan, says all I need to know.

quote:Yea, we just need a couple more coach O threads. Not nearly enough during the football off-season.

I wouldn't mind a few "who will wear numbers 18/7" threads either.

You’re thinking of TD in July.

When the football only fans show up, that’s usually when things get a little toxic

It's sad that we actually need a guide to common sense, but well done.

No need for this thread. It's basketball season.

I hate the I’m a LSU baseball and a ( insert school) football fan. What’s worse is since basketball has been dormant for so long you have a lot of LSU baseball and football and insert school ( duke or other blue blood) basketball fan.
