Well, if that is true, then LSU shouldn't spend one dime on NIL for this next year. Save it all for when we do bring in a coach that can actually coach talent.

Honest question- if we don't lose Reed, how do you think this team does?

We probably win two more games.

The real downfall was the first game at home vs. Vanderbilt. I truly think if we win that game, we have the same season as Vanderbilt. That's how big that game was IMO. People underestimate the "Confidence" factor.

Good Lord.

Not they don’t. You don’t put up such a dismal 3 year record because of one tough loss. It requires systemic futility. The guy is completely out of his league and maybe nothing illustrates it more than LSU being only one of two teams in the SEC to not make the tournament. And it’s not like LSU “just missed out”. They weren’t even in the conversation…again.

There’s no justification for bringing McMahon back other than the AD locked him into such a bad contract that LSU can’t afford to cut bait. This is the worst hire by any LSU AD in nearly 40 years.

I'm not talking about his 3 year record. I'm talking about this year. You must have not played a sport or coached a sport to not understand "confidence". It's not something you can fake.

Going into the Vanderbilt game THIS year, McMahon was as I expected. A bad first year, which everyone gave him a pass - as they should.

A 2nd year that we improved to a 9 - 9 SEC record.

THIS year the Vanderbilt game was the dagger. We didn't start 0 - 1 in the SEC, we basically started 0 - 3 after ONE game because the players knew that couldn't beat Missouri or Ole Miss away.

And, this stuff about Ja Morant making McMahon a good coach. McMahon was 67 - 25 AFTER Morant left and finished ranked 20th in the country his last year at Murray State. So, he is a good coach, but he's just not a good fit at LSU.

Next year will determine his future.

7 other teams also lost their opening conference game. Yet, somehow, some way, they were able to overcome that devastating blow to their confidence to reach the NCAA Tournament.

McMahon and his team on the other hand were just so fragile that the loss of ONE game totally derailed the season? Is that the BS you’re trying to use to justify this 3 year disaster? Inadvertently, you just made a strong argument against McMahon. He’s evidently incapable of overcoming a minor setback.

Maybe next year the other SEC coaches will do him a favor and collectively tank so he can avoid the devastation of 1 loss.

Were those 7 other teams expected to win? playing at home? had two away games next?

You are right that some teams don't lose confidence as much as this LSU team did this year and McMahon is not the coach to help you get your confidence back - (He's one of those low key coaches that goes by the "practice your way back" into confidence).

He will get better players next year. I understand that he "needs" to have a non-losing record in the SEC next year. Should be interesting.

It's not!

LSU Alums and Fans can make King MA McWoodward change his mind about bringing dysfunctional McHallman back next season. (With more NIL $$$$ as an excuse)

It's an insult to every LSU Alum and Fan that's not perpetually shaking the P&G pom poms while bending over and taking it from both Mr. and Mrs. Mediocrity..............

Scott Woodward had to do it so Will Wade would take the NC State gig and then he wouldn't have to worry about the bad press, watching our former coach be an available candidate.

Scott is LSU last.

The ncaa is a laughing stock joke that multiple fellow sec teams have told to frick off and Kansas told them to frick off as well. Scott bent the knee because it wasn’t his hire and his family by marriage connection to the ncaa.

Now to keeping the only coach in 3 years to fail to make the tourny in the current sec, it’s because Will Wade hadn’t taken a p5 job yet.

Family, Ego then LSU for Scott
