Based on the playoff selection, is there any benefit to even being in the SEC?

Seems like you could pick and choose a few tough games, rest your players, and have a first round bye if you changed conferences.

Just saying…it’s frustrating to see teams like Boise and SMU in there. We would beat 90% of those teams that made it.

I mean we get a portion of the TV money that is divided up every year which is 2nd most only to what the BIG10 gets. Don't even have to do anything and get a fat arse check.

Any 3 loss team who doesn’t win conference championship or appear in conference championship game, no matter what conference doesn’t deserve to be in playoffs period

More money and more forgivable losses.
BYU had a pretty good resume and didn't even get a sniff at 10-2 with a win @SMU. Losing @ASU would have been forgiven, but they weren't allowed a second loss to a scrappy Kansas team. Decent wins blowing out K State and @Baylor.
You probably HAVE to be 11-1 or better to comfortably get in without an autobid, which people are trying to get rid of.
That being said, if y'all want to leave and join the Big 12, we (ASU) would love to have you. There'd be some awesome pregames and Friday night bar scenes.

Bama is not in the best 3 in the conference
They are arguing that they deserve the 12 spot
If this was about the best 12 teams, maybe, but it's not.
It is about making sure the top 4 teams get in to battle for the title, I think they got the best 6 this year. Then it is about giving schools from smaller conferences get their day in the sun.
SMU was in before the championship game and loss on a walk off field goal. To take it from them for that and give it Bama of all teams that has gone almost every year would have been wrong.
Top 4 teams are in and a good deed done as well.

And what teams would have replaced the loses with? Hypothetical opinion. Playoff committee got it right this yr and a 3 lost team should not have made playoffs just as none did

Three loss SEC teams are still in the mix, and a 2-loss SEC team is almost an automatic in. What other conference gets that.
