Kade had the best at bat of the night when he fouled off breaking ball after breaking ball, then took one on 2-2 count before eventually flying out. Needs to get some more RBI's

Sure. But that's not something that happens on it's own. It's not like a coach just sits around and waits for his team to figure it out because they have a few veterans.

Well, it happens with experience. Which is why we cannot expect all the new guys to just "fit" in.

I really like the way Kade has played overall.

Who's the best defensively of chinea and scivique?

I've only seen Scivicque play 2 games at catcher. Tough to say at this point, but probably Chinea right now.

I don't think Moore should be behind the plate anymore. 1B, DH, or pinch hit. Too crucial of a position to mess with IMO.

That's been my conclusion as well, but it's still early. I will wait for the sample size to grow before I get too worked up about the position battles.

McMullen DH
Bregman SS
Hale 2B
Ibarra 3B
Fraley RF
Chinea/Scivique C
Moore 1B
Laird LF

What y'all think? I like this as of right now.

Looks good to me for now. I would like to see Foster back out there, but nothing wrong with giving Jake a shot either.

I like Robertson and think he will be a good player, but right now I think we need Hale at 2b and either Chinea or Moore at 1b.

Yeah I like him in right but he just hasn't thrived as a starter over the years. I think fraley will be our future out there and it may be a little high in the lineup for him.

The defense was more concerning than anything. We need an arm in RF and behind the plate. They ran all over Moore. Some of the SBs were on pitchers, but his throws were all over the place.
this

Came on to see if I was crazy or anyone shared these concerns. I think the hitting will come around, but arm strength is not a coaching or practice issue.

I'd say Chinea is probably the best on defense. But right now Scivique has the best combo of hitting and defense. Last night made it obvious Moore doesn't need to be behind the plate.

Laird had no chance to throw the kid out at home anyway, but our outfielders refuse to get behind the ball and come through it to make a strong throw. It's a pretty simple concept that will at least help our already weak arms.
