Yea the Rant is going to be unbearable today.

We have a bunch of Skip Bertmans all of a sudden on the Rant. People watch this team one game all season and they are the best coach we have. Just like when KR blew through the stop sign last night. People don't even know that Javi is on the bench and not at 3rd.

Apparently that rule only applies when the home team is winning and the visiting team takes the lead in the top half of the inning. I've never in my life heard of such a thing. If you ask me, that makes even less sense.

Ah, interesting. Never heard of anything like that at any level of baseball .

Thanks for the explanation though.

So it took just 2 weeks and 7 games for Foster to be back in the dog house. He has to "earn his spot" back now. Funny how that rule only applies to some guys.

No way Foster deserves to be out of the lineup because of what he did in two weekends against mediocre pitching.

What he did in SEC play last year should trump that.

We could use his experience. The rookies played like rookies last night when pressure was applied to LSU for the first time this season.

How is HCB handling KR's tough game?

Yeah Mainieri mentioned Kramer in the postgame as "playing like a freshman" which in Paul terms means he is back on the bench and will be used as a "sparkplug" later in the season.

I think Fraley will be the next guy to get a "full-time" shot.

What tough game? Did you see the speed of Kramer in getting from 2nd to home? That shortstop has a great arm. Then in the 6th inning, that groud ball to 2nd took a wicked hop. I really think the ump should have called interference on the runner, because he saw where the ball was heading, ran in front and made a divot where the ball would bounce, and forced a crazy hop. That was a heck of a stop by Kramer to keep that ball from getting to the outfield.

Agreed. I think Stevenson is about to be moved to the top of the order. 1 or 2 seems like it should happen.

Posted this elsewhere. My takeaways from last night:
quote:

It's meh. Probably would have ended even worse [had the game continued]. It's over. Moving on. LSU has to get better and find a consistent lineup. It's time for PM to stop fricking around and find his 9 or 10 guys he can rely on and get them as much PT as possible before SEC.... especially the catcher's spot.

The defense was more concerning than anything. We need an arm in RF and behind the plate. They ran all over Moore. Some of the SBs were on pitchers, but his throws were all over the place. I think we have hitters; but they need 4/5 ABs a game to get settled in and be consistent. Glenn was a little shakey but I put that on him trying to be too fine with his pitches going against a deep lineup.

Its all about hitting your stride at the right time. We will be fine. This is a young team with solid veterans at key spots.

Sure. But that's not something that happens on it's own. It's not like a coach just sits around and waits for his team to figure it out because they have a few veterans.

I'm still not of Kade scivicque pain train. He played like a freshman and I think his bat is good.

Stevenson needs to be moved up in the lineup. His success at the plate in the summer has carried over.

I think Foster needs a few more games to see if he can get the bat going.

Glenn went pretty deep into the count on a lot of batters and when they did hit it they hit it hard. I think it may have been a little more than jitters.

KRob had a tough game but he's a freshman. He'll be a great Tiger but it may come next year. Hale will probably be the starting 2B.

I think the ball took a bad hop off the edge of the grass on Ibarra's error. Not worried in the slightest about his defense.

That sucks since he's not a freshman.

Like I said: he was trying to be too careful.

It was changed to a hit.
