‘22 was worse than this? I know Thompson struggled but it was this bad all around?

I mean considering the program's prestige, resources, recruiting, and money spent, there really is no excuse for falling out the top 25. This isn't a crazy take.

It is absolutely insane to have a take like that and I’d venture to guess that nobody who’s ever played baseball past middle school would have such a stupid opinion

By the same token, we’re a few pitches away from being 0-6 in SEC play.

Not at all. Our two wins are by 6 and 7 runs.

Are losses are by:

1 run - walk off HR after Brown HR called foul
8 runs
2 runs
1 run - 2 run error by Ruckert on a routine play

We are significantly closer to being 5-1 than 0-6.

Astounding that LSU baseball is putting this product out on the field. Nothing the coaches can do at this point. Just pick some spots and get SOME wins. Evaluate the current roster and clean house for ‘27. This ‘26 team should be ashamed of itself.

Lmao this is insane. It’s two series into SEC play and this is baseball. Teams can get hot. It sucks they haven’t looked great but this is just insanity

That 2022 defense and pitching staff was a nightmare lol. People forget the only reason lsu won so many games is because that offense was awesome

However, there is ZERO- ZERO- excuse to not be in the Top 25 every week of this program’s existence.

You are the worst of the worst type of LSU fan.

Agree with OP, considering the smaller state next door has three teams consistently (and currently) in the top 25.

However, unlike others, I fully expect this LSU team to make a strong push down the stretch.

To be fair they are 6th in the conference in runs per game at 8.16. A few more timely hits and they'd be at the top. Clean up the defense and get better in the clutch moments. Don't beat yourself leaving a guy in too long when one of your best in the bullpen is fresh.

This. Tards live to melt but we aren’t getting run-ruled. The 24 team did multiple times while struggling early in the season. If the guys we know can hit like Milan and Curiel can get out of their slumps, Stanny can get healthy and back to consistency at the plate, and Seena keeps developing, then we can start winning some of these close games.

The infield defense definitely has to improve to average. They’ve shown they can in a few games, but the margins are too small right now to have any mistakes. All it took was 2 bad innings after an ok start defensively to piss away game 3 vs OU.

If the OP had led with, “after two SEC series”, He’d be spot on. They look like shite right now but I have confidence that Jay will get them to gel as a team and turn this season around. And by turning it around I mean have a winning record in the SEC and host a regional!
