I like summarizing the scrimmages and am glad it is appreciated. I hope fans who cannot make the scrimmages enjoy them.

It is greatly appreciated. If I lived closer to BR I would be watching them with you. Scuba scrimmage threads and Adams preview are by far my favorite threads I look forward to on this board.

I've noticed that most of the batters are not swinging at as many bad pitches as in the last few years. Eddie Smith effect?

Sounds like Jared Mitchell in 09. Early season against scrub teams wasn't fair. Fun to watch though. I'd be thrilled if he made it to peak Mitchell levels of production at some point while here.

Since you've seen this team every step of the way live, care to give us your thoughts on opening weekend lineup versus who you think will be there contributing at the end? Or, if you don't feel like doing that, name the guys you see who are maybe doing solid things, but just haven't quite broke through yet, that we can't see from the stats.

Yeah thats likely an eddie smith thing, he is all about being patient at the plate, walks and extra base hits. He is all about that OPS....which is a welcomed approach to guys like me and MOT. We have been tired of watching our hack at the first strike approach

Apparently, it's frick giving Cabrera anything to hit.
Or, as leadoff batter today, maybe Cabrera was told to see as many pitches as possible and take a walk if he could, which he did all three times he batted.

Fwiw, Drew Bianco may have hit the hardest ball today, a line shot off the left-centerfield wall to the left of the pitch clock.
