This is getting absurd, Adam. I finished my first cup of coffee, and it's still not posted

Starting to get itchy and shaky over here. Need my next dose of baseball preview before the withdrawals kick in.

I apologize, everytime this happens it gets over 7900 characters and it throttles the post.

I think Loer will be this years Riley Cooper. High leverage guy that can be put in at any point to shut down the other team

Not one single 80 grade on the pitching staff? Adam, you slipping.

I really want to see him get some significant time as the closer in the back end of SEC play and heading into the post season.

Also rooting hard for Aiden, saw him pitch during the summer and when hes on that fastball at 98-99 with movement looks unhittable. If he can command it consistently he will be used in a number of spots this year.

Do you see Noot factoring in somewhat like Javen Coleman last year? How does he project as a pitcher, power righty relying on the fastball with effectiveness being more on how the secondary stuff is working?

The pitching staff as a whole looks DEEP, should be able to throw a ton at teams.

The depth of the pitching staff has been discussed thousands of times. I just hope the overall health remains intact so that Noot returning is a luxury more than a necessity.

Either way, yes, I think he gets worked back in very similar to the way Coleman was eased back last season.

Noot would be a one inning max guy coming off of the injury. He was 95-98mph in high school with very good breaking ball. He may not get to that velocity until 2025.

Cory Kluber announced his retirement from professional baseball today.

Let's remember the times LSU faced off against him:

6 runs in 4.1 innings in 2006 LINK

9 Ks in 6.2 innings in 2007

2007 was a better line up and against another future MLBer.

For conversation purposes I'd have to think they aren't completely abandoning Jake Brown as a pitching prospect but we'll see.

Last year Adam sarcastically said that with our hitters we shouldn't need a pitching staff. This year with our pitching staff we shouldn't need hitters.

Nate Ackenhausen

I know his main role would be in relief, but I would be surprised if Ackenhausen doesn't get a start or two before SEC play. He's someone we could use during tournament time like last year. You might as well give him some more experience in that role. They play 8 games in 10 days. You need 5 different starters in that span. If Anderson is #4, who else would be a better option than Ack to have in that spot?

I'm just realizing Kaleb Applebey isn't on the roster any longer.

You can’t go wrong with Ackenhausen, Herring, or Coleman as another starting option.

I thought I said that before 2022 because we knew the pitching wouldn’t be worth a damn
