Crazy transfer stat.

With the additions of Tommy White, Thatcher Hurd, and Gage Jump LSU has 3 of the top 16 players to attend college in the class which somewhat absorbed the sting of losing Kudrna and Selvidge.

Selvidge went to the same high school as Kucherak. Hamilton in Chandler, AZ. They produce a shite ton of baseball players. Cody Bellinger went there.

Who knew that we’d be able to improve on Crews, Morgan, Dugas, Beloso, Thompson, and Jobert so easily?

I'm worried about the bats and who's going to step up and be the captain?

They are obviously deep in the bullpen, and Jones athletic ability and weight gain has me concerned...I'm not expecting him to make the plays Morgan made, but he did not look good at the last scrimmage I saw....he's looks very overweight and slow..

The bats need to come around and they need a leader with some swag to rally around, although Tommy White has confidence, Im not exactly sure he's the leader the team will rally around

Let's hope the SEC strike zone grows to wider than an index card this season.

Kind of a double edged sword. This year I might almost say would be better for us than last year to have picky umps since at least in theory pitching is our strength with our hitters possibly needing a bit of a boost. I would suspect that we could weather a ump who is squeezing better than nearly all of of the teams we play. These things frequently don't work out the way you expect, though so we'll just have to see how it goes.

As far as I can tell, there are only 3 transfers (from outside the conference) on the two all sec teams, with White being the only first teamer. And he's got a year in the conference. Everyone on the first team has played in the SEC.

Amick and Montgomery on the second team are the other two transfers.

Just saw that FanDuel has a season win total future for LSU set at o/u 39.5. Big IF LSU can stay healthy and have a consistent Sunday starter. I think LSU should certainly get over 40 regular season wins.

Warren Nolan has LSU predicted at a ridiculous 52-4, with the 4 losses being 2 at Arkansas, 1 at Tennessee, and 1 at Alabama. (Obviously not going to happen, and there's not really any data going into their formula right now.)

Would you be satisfied with .500 through those four series?

Yea. 6-6 or 7-5 would be respectable.

A schedule like that with the 2018-2021 teams and they might go 3-9 and completely ruin the season from the start.

Avoided having to see this for as long as I could. Leaves me sad. What a baseball player.

If Tommy White is the first collegiate bat taken in the MLB draft this summer then LSU will become the only college team ever to have three position players taken first in back to back to back seasons from the same school

Jacob Berry was the first position player taken in the 2022 draft and Dylan Crews was the first position player taken in the 2023 draft.
If Tommy White ends up being the first position player taken in the 2024 draft, LSU would be the first school to produce the first position player taken in three consecutive drafts.
