Im with you on this one, ill be surprised if he hits 8 and 9 hole all season. I think he is destined to hit 1,2,5, or 6 at some point

I think he should hit 1 or 2 or at least open there.
There’s no value having a good hitter hit 9th lol

Im guessing he hasnt had a good spring at the plate if he is that low in the order. 5th year senior with the bat he has shown the last couple years, he’ll be a dude. Similar to dugas the last couple seasons
Also, ell just has some strange takes, like last season

Re Miliam, CJJ has said that a pro scout from the Tampa Rays, a friend whose opinion he "greatly values", told him that Miliam was the "real deal". When Miliam committed, the scout called & congratulated him. As for Bingham, CJJ coached him for 2 yrs, so he ought to know how good he is, re of conferences.

55 speed for Pearson? Have you not seen him run?
I’d say 65 on your 20-80 scale Cutrer.

I don't hate Kling in the leadoff spot but he will have to hit more consistently to be in that spot. I like Braswell leadoff. Also hard to predict the opening day lineup not really knowing the status of Neal. I would also assume Milazzo will get the nod for opening day even if Neal ends up getting more playing time throughout the season.
Opening day prediction:
Braswell SS
Pearson 2B
White 3B
Travinski DH
Kling CF
Brown RF
Bingham LF
Jones 1B
Milazzo C

I could see any of the catchers starting opening night. I just love Neal’s bat from the left side and I’d almost rather they DH him everyday if he can’t catch.

I do expect him to be t 20-25 HRs this year as long as he can stay healthy. He might be the player I'm most excited to watch going into the season.

Travinski’s home run against Ole Miss changed the season for LSU. After that at bat, Travinski earned another chance or two and he ran with it. He was a huge piece of our batting lineup down the stretch. We may not have gotten by Oregon State without him. His injury in Omaha slowed him down, but man was he good for that 23 game stretch at the end of the year.

Just rewatched that Ole Miss 3rd game, shocked to see Little started and gave 5 innings of 2 run ball
First 3 ABs of game (Dugas, Morgan, Crews) all had hits, gonna miss that

I agree. The problem with that is if Milazzo is catching you can not take Travinski's bat out the lineup. So Neal will not DH in that situation.
If Neal is healthy, he will be the primary catcher and Travinski at DH. Just seems the plan is working in Neal slowly to start the season. I think we all know the upside as a team is with Neal C over Milazzo. I just think Milazzo gets more time early in the season to ramp up Neal slowly.

I wonder if we see a lot of Travinski at catcher early this season to let Neal and Milazzo come on slowly because of last years injuries? Or are they both 100% healthy already?
Posted on 2/7/24 at 8:51 am to kengel2
Milazzo has caught in 6 of the 7 scrimmages and Neal has caught in 4 of the 7 scrimmages. So it seems Neal is being worked in a little slower. Travinski will definitely get some time behind the plate but I think they use him very sparingly back there just to make sure he stays as healthy as he can be through the whole year. His production at the plate is much more valuable than what he can give you behind the plate. Milazzo and Neal are both well ahead of Travinski defensively.

Milazzo fractured a bone. That usually takes 6-8 weeks to heal.
That was 7 months ago.
