I'm getting ahead of the thread, but I've seen Ty Floyd listed as both a 2022 and 2023 draft prospect. His birthday is right on the cut line. I'm thinking the draft date will make him a 2022 draft prospect.

It's going to be a shitshow.

At least 7 pages worth of Morgan will be an OF at the next level.

For the record, I couldn't care any less where he plays at the next level. I want him to play whatever position at LSU gives us the best overall lineup.

Same, I wasn't calling you out

He's going to be the 1B in my prediction because at this point predicting him in the outfield would be assuming at least 4-5 other shifts will happen at the same time and it's difficult to do right now.

And I predict him to start at 1B, too.

How big is the difference between McManus and Milazzo behind the plate? If McManus can’t hold on to the spot, we’re going to have a ridiculous number of guys fighting to DH.

Some of these guys in this thread have seen McManus this fall and spring at this point behind the plate but he was just the backup catcher for Samford last year. He got ran on pretty bad. He threw out 3 of 19 base stealers and had 6 passed balls (again, as not the primary catcher).

Their primary catcher threw out 15 of 66 base stealers and had 6 passed balls himself (on a lot more volume though).

Just going by stats McManus has work to do behind the plate, if he was pretty good there he'd easily win the C job no question by this point since Milazzo is just kind lost at the plate (but elite behind it).

One unknown about McManus is will he be able to hold up catching the majority of the games. That’s why he didn’t catch much at Samford

That tells me samfords staff didnt hold runners very well

I can't believe we got this far without mentioning Crews and Bianco as candidates behind the plate

I've just been assuming it was a given they would both be splitting time behind the plate.

Three of which will be Meauxjeaux reminding everyone he was ahead of the curve with this suggestion last year, while forgetting to mention he suggested it as a way to get Hellmers in the lineup because he was a better first baseman than Morgan.

Berry to 1B allows you to put Merrifield on the field and still have a DH that isn't Berry. Jobert to 1B, I'm not quite buying. Jobert can also play in the outfield, even if Morgan is a better outfielder, the flip side is Morgan is a better at 1B. So did you gain anything defensively? Beloso at 1B means no Jobert, Drost, Pearson, Stevenson or Gio in the OF. So Beloso will have to out hit all of them.

Jobert to 1B is if Berry is able to handle 3B and Dugas, Morgan, and Crews are in the OF. Let's assume one of Drost, Beloso, Travinksi, or Bianco are DHing.

Jobert's first place is going to be RF but his bat impresses me more than Beloso at this point. What do you think?
