Is Broussard that much faster or is Hughes just that much slower?
Broussard was extremely fast.
Hughes also had some moments where he wasn't putting in 100% effort which I'm not happy about.

Hal Hughes has above average speed?
IDK, but Hughes is one of those really smooth athletes who don't look like they're putting out a lot of effort, but they are moving quickly.

Gotta say, the infield isn't exactly looking like Murderer's Row. Not trying to be negative, but outside of 1B I don't see much pop in the lineup coming from the IF.
Hopefully, the OF will look better. I am expecting LSU to have a strong pitching staff.

No and you are correct. 2B and SS appear to be the weakest links of this team and maybe one of the outfield spots depending on who's there. The good news is both the starting pitching and relief pitching should be some of the deeper and most experienced units in the entire nation.

Mathis is a goofy looking guy

Hughes has below average speed on the bases and while he has a good glove he doesn’t have the range of a top of the line defensive only SS.

Hughes should be batting 4th this season

Why did we preview SS then 3B instead of 3B then SS?
Rookie move.

I like to go counter clockwise.
Chicks dig it.

Michael Lagarrigue was added to the online roster. Not sure when, I just saw it today. This seems to be an indicator that they will carry him for the season.

In #ArmSoreness news -
The following pitchers are out this year with Tommy John:
Hugh Fisher - Vanderbilt
Carter Sells - Arkansas
Dylan Harley - South Carolina
Tyler Myers - Ole Miss
While not an opponent of ours, former pitching coach Terry Rooney at Houston has lost a couple guys to TJ. One of those is former Delgado Dolphin and former HS teammate of Daniel Cabrera, Sean Bretz.
Texas pitcher/third baseman Andre Duplantier is out an undetermined amount of time with a broken hamate in his non-throwing hand.
Also, Ole Miss sophomore weekend starter Doug Nikhazy got a DUI over the weekend.

That sucks. I really hope at some point we can pinpoint what is the root cause of the increase in injuries requiring TJ.

So he'll be named the Friday night starter next week.
0% Bianco cuts him with the pitching they lost.

Thanks again for the preview and predictions.
Cabrera and Beloso hit 300+ 15 HRs, and Garza since he is healthy and returning.
Returning, we need Gio and Dugas to hit close to 300. 5 solid hitters.
Bianco has some pop but has to up his average.
Mathis is the wild card.
Hughes sigh needs to hit 230 AND play very good defense.
Eta, DH. All these great new recruits can show what they got a DH. Any of the above can't cut it or get in a slump, plug them in and see what happens.
