Good stuff on DH Adam. I saw on twitter tonight that brice jordan , jordan romero and mason templet all were injured in the scrimmage. thats not something that we need right now. were you there with some insinght?

while rereading your posts in their entirety (nice job, BTW) just curious why you think Breaux has a below average arm? He was clocked in the cape at 94 out of the OF, and Duplantis's arm is a 30 at best, he was clocked in the mid 80s in the cape this summer.

I was at the scrimmage today and all three players seemed to suffer minor leg injuries. Templet grabbed his hamstring after running out a grounder. Romero seemed to have rolled his ankle going into second base. Bryce Jordan hurt his right knee trying to catch a pop up between the plate and third base. I'm assuming that they are all minor but I can't say for sure.

As for Breaux's arm, I concur. It is better than Beau's or Antoine's.

Jordan's injury did not look minor, cleat got caught in the turf in foul ground. Went down hard while screaming. Hoping like you said, that injury is minor. Really could use his bat in the DH role

Tigahs1977, that sentence on Breaux was an obvious oversight on my part and I apologize for that, I've since changed it.

Being a converted LHP out of high school its obvious he has arm strength but I've been disappointed to hear he's been working through some tenderness over the last 2 weeks, I'm hoping it's not a lingering throwing injury from high school because he'll be a key piece to the outfield coming up.

Somewhat surprised to see that the two freshman are head of Gilbert as SPs. Is this because they have surpassed Gilbert or the staff has a different/better use for Gilbert?

It's not so much of what Gilbert brings to the table as much as Mainieri wanting to see what the talented younger guys can show seeing that the rotation will get a facelift next February.

Gilbert's going to get major major innings in 2017. If Hess, Peterson, Walker fail to show any consistency he's likely to be the #3 guy.

Meh. We always have extremely talented freshmen. Really we need these guys to get experience before next year when they will be needed big time.

I really like how much Poche developed in the second half of the season last year. He seemed to struggle his sophomore year and the beginning of last year but turned out to be a really good pitcher. As long as he doesn't leave pitches in the zone and pitches to the corners and low parts of the zone he should be very effective and if Lange does what Lange is capable to do we should be able to win series very easily. If we develop a 3rd and a 4th pitcher like with Hess, Walker, or Peterson, this will be a very good and special team and we should be able to win the SEC tourney and have a deep run in Omaha. Looks like this should be a very great year for the Tigers and I can't wait for the season to start and as always thanks for doing these previews Adam4848! GEAUX TIGERS!

Makes sense, better begin to develop the depth this year OOC. The staff next year will be interesting. Thanks for the previews!
