Wasn’t Gio leading the team in hitting last year when they cancelled the season? Hard for him to get into a groove this year when he was hurt so much. With his speed, I wouldn’t give up on him!

Hate to see Jack Merrifield is not on this list. Jack, from Dutchtown, is as close to a Jason Williams type as Ascension Parish has had since JW left for LSU. He works at his craft everyday and is a high energy guy, who has developed so well at LSU-Eunice. He is a better "BASEBALL PLAYER" than some returners. I hope the bright lights of playing in the Box does not get to him. That is the only thing that can stop him!

LSU website shows 88 AB’s not 99.
Which comes out to a 33% strikeout rate. Which is very high
Add to that, he only has 8 BB’s on the season. With his speed that should be a lot higher.

The expectations for next year are through the roof and I don’t think they will disappoint. Never thought we would still be talking next year baseball in middle of July.

Yes. Someone with elite speed and no power should have an approach to be less aggressive and hopefully increase his OBP via BB’s. Then turn walks into doubles because he sure as hell ain’t hitting a double.

I actually liked how scrappy he was early on. I didn’t make a depth chart.
