What about McMullen in RF, with Hale at 2B and Robertson at DH? Assuming Foster continues to struggle.

I would rather Hale at DH in that case, Robertson looks to have better range to me.

I think the battles will sort themselves out after the first couple SEC weekends. Some of them won't be able to produce like they are currently. But it's good to know we have options if someone gets in a slump or we have injuries.

None of you assholes are allowed on the Foster Pain Train I'm driving. Especially when he's hitting .350 and throwing out runners left and right in SEC play.

Just think he needs to get a good GF to make him a couple PB&Js everyday. Dude needs some more meat on his bones.

I think he's as big or bigger than Bregman. We don't need him to hit the long ball. If he hits like he did tonight that's just fine with me.

Na man LSUsports.net has him at 5'10 160. Bregs has him by 2 inches and 30 pounds.

I'll just leave this here:

quote:

Trey Mongrue ?@TreyMongrue 5m
In addition, Robertson leads #LSU 1.171 OPS & a 0.600 OBP.

Trey Mongrue ?@TreyMongrue 7m
Of #LSU players that have registered 5+ plate appearances this year, Robertson leads with a 0.600 runs per appearance average.

Way too small of a sample to start looking at that kind of stuff.

Little early be throwing out meaningful averages since he has 10 plate appearances, but he's good, no doubt

That's a freak of first night though, Laird didn't even get that last night with 3 walks and HBP.
That night KRob had 2 walks and HBP, I think that was more a right place at the right time deal.

Yeah. It's way early and so easy to get excited. Not that we shouldn't be but we need to remember that we've been playing some pretty weak teams. And we've been playing them early in the season at Alex Box. That place has to be intimidating to college kids who are used to playing in fromt of a few hundred on a good night. They were probably nervous.

Speaking of which, is there anyone on the schedule before Vanderbilt who could challenge us enough to beat us outside of maybe ULL? I saw they even lost 1 already to Eastern Illinois.

Alot of that going around. Was listening to PM's post game, and heard MState has dropped a few this week.

Doubtful, even though anyone can beat you in baseball. Purdue is 0-5 and next weekend will be Yale's first games.

4 positions are set for the season (assuming no injuries)

Laird in Left
Stevenson in Center
Ibarra at 3B
Bregman at SS

the question is

who gets put in right, 2B, 1B, C, DH

I would like to see this when the season starts

2B KROB
1B Chinea
C Scivicque
RF Mcmullen (Maybe Foster)
DH Hale (Maybe McMullen)

3 game series with Yale and Purdue. I guess we could drop one somewhere but I just can't see it happening right now. But it is baseball so you never know.

I noticed Sacred Heart beat Mississippi State

Man, Mississippi State is 3-3 on the season now with losses to Western Carolina, Memphis and Sacred Heart...so much for them being in the Top 2 in the conference.

Gotta go with Moore over Chinea in this lineup. Chinea just has zero offense.

I could see that, It's to early to tell on that end so far.
