I agree, but he did try to lay down a bunt yesterday with runners on 1st and 2nd, no outs and needing a run. Normally would let the kid hit into a double play right there.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the attempt to sac bunt.

I have played and coached plenty of baseball. I can recognize poor coaching decisions including staff hires.

How is he like Les? I always see people saying he’s Les 2.0 but no one ever gives examples how he’s Les 2.0

Seriously?

Early national championship, followed by years of increasing struggles on offense, one break-through year with a disappointing showing in the title series, a seemingly slow decline with more offensive struggles since, good enough to keep a lot of fans repeating “who else would we get?” but never great, never elite, just in a stale and disappointing state of just plain “good.”

He's stubborn, his offense sucks, and his success is fading as the years go on. Just like Les, the offseason is filled with propaganda that this is the year that everything will be fixed and better and then in the first game, we see that everything is the same as it always has been.

To all the people saying "Its only the second game", these criticisms are based on more than a decade of watching this man mismanage baseball teams, not 2 games.

PM was saved from a really poor season last year by COVID. He had some time to find fixes for the holes in the infield but didn’t. He got back some good front line pitching that will win some games but ultimately, this team will lose a lot of 1 and 2 run games because of how bad 2/3 of the batting order is and leaky defense. All things that fall directly on his shoulders.

Incoming baseball fans parroting the same lines.

“Baseball isn’t like football or basketball, you don’t win every game”

In comes butt pirate parroting the same hatred for every coach on campus not named O.

Do you think the left side of the infield is ready to play defense at the caliber that these great pitchers need?

Beside Hellmers who played bad defense? To me 3B, LF, and now CF with Gio hurt are our main question marks. With only having played 2 games they haven’t really had much time to try out a bunch of different guys at those positions.

where were you criticizing the five football losses? You seem to criticize every other sport on campus. Just seems odd

I've been saying this for years now and all I get are a ton of down votes for it. PM has wasted more talent in ten years than most programs get in 50yrs. It's past time for him to leave.

Here how the season will go, they continue to lose games they shouldn't but they'll do enough to make it to or host a reginal where they will run into good pitching and they will get beat out. PM will be forgiven because he made another run. LSU homers will pound their chest and say what a great job PM did and there is no way he should be fired. Next year rinse and repeat.

I wonder if other universities settle for mediocracy like LSU fans do. We were and still should be a powerhouse in baseball considering the recruits we still get.

I guess they do since most other schools haven’t had the success in baseball that LSU has had under PM. There’s other teams who have had more talent by the way. I’m not sure why you believe LSU just sucks up all the baseball talent and no one else has any. There’s a lot of good baseball players out there.

Can you name 10 programs that have accomplished more than LSU? Should be easy if we are just mediocre

SS did not get many balls & that was one of PM’s concerns. So we shall see how that progresses

You think PM’s concerns about SS were defensively so he put Bianco, who hasn’t played SS in college, there? Obviously the concerns with SS were on the offensively and Arnold has been pretty good there

I don't think any decision should be made after 2 games...especially baseball. Lets give it some time before deciding on this team. Its the first weekend. Now if they are .500 after a month, then I will be concerned.

They certainly weren’t. He specified defense more than once in his interviews.

He’s not being fired before the season is over. No chance. Let it finish and see what happens

Link? Genuinely curious because I have not heard anything about defensive problems at SS
