I’m sure my info isn’t 100% correct, just hoping it provides a basic overview for those that only know Bianco as the coach that beat us last weekend & thinks he should be packing up his office to head to BR

gotcha, I guess I was just trying to show how his numbers finally got released and it was/is because he's now in the top 5 earners at Vandy, so he showed up on their return when he hadn't prior.

and the winner is Matt Riser like I had said before. He is the next young coach to get a big time job. People in the baseball circles all know this as well

Most rantards know very little about the college baseball coaching landscape.
An interesting subject for a topic would keep out the names and do a blind taste test vote on career omparison results only. I don't have the time.

Also wonder why Jeff Willis, who's done wonders with developing what he's had to work with is never mentioned.

I officially withdraw Riser from my list of coaches I would want.

I mean, let's just go ahead and add Joe Maddon, AJ Hinch, and Paul Molitor while we're at it.

TOPS is only for Louisiana kids. Yes, it gives a slight advantage for those kids with the grades, who are good enough to play at LSU. LSU recruits nationally though, and tops doesn't come into play there. The private schools can give out other scholarships to anybody, not just the in state kids.

True, but the scholarships saved for instate talent can be given to out of state talent. So it helps with the entire team.

Tulane, his alma mater, refused to hire him when Pierce left to go to Texas. Riser had been an assistant coach at Tulane, too.

Which is why I said it helps, but it is nowhere near Vandy. Vandy can hand out non baseball scholarships to any and every kid on their team. Even with TOPS, LSU can not do this.

How about Willis from LSUE? He's been successful, although the jump from DII JUCO to the SEC might be seen as too steep.

Yep, being development farm for D1, especially LSU, is a detriment to ones accolades. He could never take LSU frosh and develop them, a main point of CPM detractors.
One negative might be age, as I think he's been at LSU-E quite some time, maybe 15yrs(?).

It was one of the names someone posted, guessing it was a troll when I saw his age
Thought about not posting but that’s what the list is for, to point out some of these are just not good ideas

It’s not a detriment.. but if the perception is that a program like LSU needs a “proven” major conference D1 Head Coach, then that could disqualify Willis in the eyes of the LSU admin. I think he would be a winner at LSU but he may never get that chance.

You are going to have to add Ryan Theriot to your list. You'll see a minimum of 3 threads wanting him to be the next head coach now.

Ryan would be a home run hire. LSU through and through, Louisiana boy, talks like us.
