As was said earlier, it has to be agreed upon before the game. It's not a steadfast rule.

it has to be agreed upon before hand, and I seriously doubt that it was. They aren't going to use a mercy rule the first weekend, when you need to get people game experience.

Huh? Post is after the regular season. We are far away from that...
South Carolina often beats some small nobody school around this time 23-3, so I doubut we will see a towel thrown in during this game. We have used the mercy rule in the SEC tourney a few times.
