It was a ball all of 3 minutes before against the UGA batter. Neither pitch was ever over the plate

Doesn't mean the second one wasn't a strike. "Over the plate" can mean 2-3 inches off.

And I am fine with that, but consistency is all you ask for. If i am playing short and see you not give my pitcher a great pitch on the inside, when i come to bat 5 minutes later i expect you not to change your strikezone
