If Fields went on his own he should be chastised.
Why? He was safe and just tied the game.

so its fields fault for being safe but not predicting the umpire would blow the call terribl
nah, but I'd rather play it safe there with Jacoby coming up who has been hot.

We had Jones coming up who smashed one his last AB out of the park. You play it safe there not gamble everything on that, fricking stupid.
It was at worst a 50% play. Jones chances of driving in the run with 2 outs was well below 50%.

And please stop following me around, it's getting pathetic now. We get it, you hate me. Get over it.
I don't hate you. I just think you know very little about the game and yet are constantly running your mouth.
Remember the time you called for Blake Dean to be benched? O

You don't leave it to the ump to make a close call at this point in the game, period, he screwed us most of this game. Don't leave it up to him.

So, rather than a 50/50 shot to win, you'd rather make LSU knock the run in, which is probably less than 50/50?

Correct baserunning decision; poor call. LSU should have played better and not put the game in the ump's hands.
See ya tomorrow.
See ya tomorrow.

i like the decision to send him with 2 outs on that play. the correct call was safe and should be a tied game. we were hosed.
Posted on 3/23/12 at 10:31 pm to josh336
the more questionable decision is why jones was pinching second base on the hit Auburn scored the go ahead run in. If he's playing his normal spot this game is still going on
Posted on 3/23/12 at 10:31 pm to thunderbird1100
it wasnt really a close call and like others have said jones is batting under .300. you would rather a 30% chance than a 50%? is that what you're saying?
Posted on 3/23/12 at 10:31 pm to thunderbird1100
Fields did the right thing. He scored the fricking tying run. The ump just blew the call.

I hate that "shouldn't have put ourselves in that position" mentality. The SEC is stacked with great teams and with shitty bats, you are going to have a ton of close games....the best teams do. The umps need to call the game correctly

Holding the runner on man. Duh.
I agree. I don't know what that call was about.

i do too but i also hate being 2-5 against auburn in the last 7. the mediocrity has got to stop or someone needs to answer for it. its getting old.

you're such a fricking retard. granted, looking back, Fields probably went on his own, but I don't agree with it in either case. eta: I mean I think you're retarded for the way you shoot down the guy's opinion, not because you disagree.
It was the right decision. Sorry. But that wasn't even my point. My point was that it certainly wasn't a "terrible call".
But that's cool. I'll let you stand with Thunderbird. You and he are often on the wrong side of logic.

5-23 in our last 28 road games.
33-43 overall under Mainieri on the road in the SEC

Can someone clip the last play to youtube or something?? plllleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssseeeeee
If they do you can see it and agree but since its not available yet, I shall explain.
Fields is on 2nd, 2 outs, Dozar batting.
He hits a grounder to 2nd, Fields running on contact takes off to 3rd, Dozar looks to be a routine out but when the 2nd baseman threw it, it was low and the 1st baseman couldn't get it up off the ground as the ball rolled around his feet.
Fields rounded third and headed home without slowing down.
The first baseman turned to look at the plate, picks it up, throws it home, Fields slides into the plate, feet first, and the catcher, standing with one leg parked on the OPPOSITE side of the plate catchers a high throw, brings it down to make the tag, AFTER Fields is already on his way up from the slide.
If he was out, then someone needs to explain how a catcher can make a tag from the other side of the plate on a guy who is already on his way up.
Did he miss the plate ump?

wasn't terrible but I don't like it... its pretty hilarious though that you call people out when you're often regarded as a joke here

yeh, i really didn't understand that either. i thought maybe it was just the camera angle or something.
a left handed hitter and you are playing him up the middle at 2nd base with 2 outs ? didn't understand that.
