So you think Fields was thinking about that rounding 3rd base? C'mon man
Like I said, bang-bang play for sure, but things should of been explained to him BEFORE he got out there or had he been watching the game realize leaving it up to the ump is not the way to go this game.

yeah i mean hanover was definitely safe in the second inning so that call cost us a run. but you know what. ty ross use your freaking brain and they have zero chance at turning 2.

Just making up percentages? Clearly not a "50%" play when you consider who was behind home plate. That guy called us out earlier, screwed us all night long on other calls, and you want to say a fairly close play at the plate would be a 50/50 shot? Sorry, no.
So what you are saying is that I am right except for the fact that it should have been clear that this ump was going to clearly call out the runner no matter what?
Is that your point?

I don't think anyone involved takes into account the umps performance for the night in the heat of the moment like that

I think you're wrong. It was the right move for Fields to go. HE WAS frickING SAFE, THE GAME SHOULD'VE BEEN TIED.

I'd just like for someone to explain to me why we are playing a left handed hitter up the middle in the 8th inning of a tie game with a runner on 3rd and two outs. If anything you move the shortstop up the middle and play Jones at normal depth.
I guess they thought that the batter couldn't get around on the pitcher and pull the pitch ? But then, why throw an off speed pitch ? I'm very confused.

No I didn't say you're right, where the hell did you get that? In fact I said clearly you are wrong because calling a close play at home with this ump is NOT a "50% play" for us when he's screwed us countless times tonight. You honestly want to believe that's a 50% play considering how much we got anally probed by this guy tonight? Pretty much any close call by him has went Auburn's way all night.
And you're laughing at my point yet here we sit screwed at the plate one last time by the ump and it cost us the game.

If you think a coach never talks about a bad ump or warns his players about "look out for this" then clearly you have never played sports.

we went over that when the hit happened. no one has an answer as to why jones was basically playing behind the bag.
Posted on 3/23/12 at 10:50 pm to thunderbird1100
You clearly didn't play sports if you think all that thinking or coaching goes into sending a pinch runner out there....rounding 3rd, making that decision is just instincts of whether or not you think you can make it, thats it

Arby going was the right move

people on every board hate you and often think your opinion is garbage. but you're right bro! YOU ARE NEVER WRONG OR HAVE A MINORITY OPINION!!
If you say so.
You can't argue against my point because my point is very far from outrageous (certainly not a terrible call) so you are forced to take the ad hominem approach.
It just dawned on me that you and Thunderbird are basically the same poster. Awesome guy to be aligned with.
Again, can you argue against my point at all?
