even if we dont win another game this series we went 4-2 against ark and uf. no one can complain about that. but let's be greedy and get at least one more.

you score on a HR anyway.
there is no reason whatsoever to leave the base. A good coach would have recognized this and yelled in the runners ear TAG TAG TAG.
It was clearly a mental mistake. Nobody is arguing that. But, it wasn't made because the guy didn't know to tag, or even forgot to tag. He went back to the base...then just lost his mind.
Could the coach have done more? Sure. But, he probably saw the player go to the bag as expected.
It was strange, because everybody in the stadium thought that was a homerun. The announcers on TV, Hawthorne, the entire dugout of Florida, the runner on 3rd and the 3rd base coach.
No matter what the coach did, the player is absolutely responsible for tagging there on his own. There is no excuse.

Like Lester Earl said, you gonna score either way, you have to tag. The coaches job is to make sure of that. He failed.

Kyle Peterson just said we shouldn't have won. DUDE, how many runs we GAVE them. LSU shoulda won by more than 1.

It's about time these one run games started breaking our way after the last two years. Payback is a bitch!

No excuse for the player not tagging, I agree. But as bad of a baserunning blunder it was, it was just as bad coaching.
Poor communication. Gave the runner too much freedom by not getting in his ear immediately. Then not even noticing he ventures off the base before its too late. Just horrible coaching. You are the last line of defense. And on a slow developing play like that? Pshhhhh, man. Coach deserves a lot of the blame

I picked the wrong day to miss a televised LSU baseball game. Can anyone provide a link to watch a replay?

I was just asking the same thing, but just for the ending.

Honestly, I probably want the last inning more than anything else.

quote:Yes, but he did tag. So that's not the point. The point is how did the coach react when he left the bag again after he tagged but before the catch was made. Some people seem to have seen him doing nothing. Others seem to have seen him yelling at the runner, and then jumping up and down screaming at him when the runner ignored him.
It's the coaches job to make sure he tags. Am I right?
