We should be able to run the ball at will.

I don't know about all of that, man. At will?

If you look at the raw stats it appears this defense isn't as nasty as some of their historically nasty defenses of years passed. I can't help but think that those stats are a bit inflated/skewed due to the fact that they have been able to put every game away by halftime at the latest. Let's not get it twisted - that defense is absolutely stacked with talent just like it has been every year since about 2008.

They are not as deep as in the past. Young in the secondary.

Maybe we run some tempo against them and see if they can hold up.

Starters are probably out at halftime.

Are these like affirmations or something to make us feel better?

They're pretty good vs the run.

I don't know about "at will," but I do think LSU will have success running the ball against them. Our O-line is pretty good at run blocking.

Just like we feel that Bama is overlooking how strong our defense is, I think LSU fans are overlooking how strong Bama's defense is. They gave up 30 or so to Arkansas and other teams because their 3rd string D was in. Anyone fooling themselves into thinking that Bama has a "soft" defense is going to be disappointed Saturday night. This is going to be a slugfest. Saying that LSU will run at will on Bama is just as much hyperbole as Bama fans saying they'll score 50 on our defense.

Just because Bama's schedule doesn't mirror ours I'd never accuse that program of being soft. Until someone proves they can move the ball on them when it truly matters, they have earned my benefit of debt.

If they pay it off, they can have mine as well.

Tough to say. The Alabama offense scores at will, so they are out on the field more. It isn't like Alabama's offense is going on long, methodical 10 minute drives affording them lots of rest.

when you are up several TDs, at least, other teams tend to abandon the run game and play catch-up; then later they're just going through the motions handing the ball off to kill the clock and get to the locker room....

they have not been in a game where stopping the run in the 2nd half mattered -
I hope we can put them in that situation.

92 on their team is a beast and he's not even out there every plan. Would not say soft.

Yep, Tricky Nick will have his team up for this game. Alabama defense is very good.
