Bama and Texas in the CFP

Me personally I’ll never pull for Bama no matter who they’re playing. They’ve caused too much pain to LSU over the past 15 seasons.
Also dislike Texas but obviously there’s not enough history there for it to be to the level of Bama hate. If it comes down to Bama vs Texas I suppose I’ll lean Texas.
Fans of other SEC teams that root for Bama in these scenarios are the dumbest assholes. I’ve seen it first hand Ole Miss fans and A&M fans that I know will root for the Tide regardless. Now to be fair for A&M fans they have a reason to lean Bama over Texas but any other SEC fans clinging to Bama to feel a sense of accomplishment are L O S E R S.

Nah I’m goin Bama for one reason, recruiting.
Bama is already the gold standard and will always be seen that way until Saban leaves. We’re always going to have to compete with them off the field for recruits.
Texas is a sleeping giant that has started to wake up.
Their program is already trending up after this season and we really don’t want them to be seen as fully “back”.
I don’t want a 3rd juggernaut coming into the conference

Exactly, I don't understand the logic of the people who "pull for the SEC no matter what." They are dumb for a number of reasons.
1. The conference has the reputation as the best conference regardless, which is part of why Bama got in
2. We are not Ole Miss or A&M and do not have to live vicariously through others' success
3. We have the second most national titles in the 21st century and Bama/Saban is literally the only reason that we are not the top football program. They have single handedly ruined countless seasons for us in heartbreaking fashion.
I will never pull for the Tide unless it directly benefits LSU, and this has only occurred twice that I can recall. I would like to hear the reasoning behind why someone might disagree with me here.

I think we can guess the OP's pronouns.

You obviously don’t have family and friends that live in Texas. Drop down to Austin sometime, it will make you puke your bbq. Roll Tide!

I would much rather Michigan or Washington win.
If Bama must win to keep Texas out, then so be it.

Texas should thank Bama. If Bama hadn’t beaten Georgia, Texas would have been left out of the playoffs. In that scenario:
1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Washington
4. Florida St
5. Texas
When Alabama won, the committee needed a way to put them in, but couldn’t exclude Texas because Texas won the head to head. So, they bumped Florida St to justify putting both in. Had Alabama lost to Georgia, without the impetus to move heaven and earth to get Bama in the playoffs, Texas gets left out for undefeated Florida St.

I think Washington beats Texas. Being counted out already and this Texas team is way overhyped.

The Committee will treat us like they treated FSU, in the future too.

Cause we’re in the ACC? What kind of take is this?

It had nothing to do with conference. It had everything to do with ratings and $$$. If it had to do with "conference" how the frick did Texas get in?
Alabama and Texas will always get the benefit of the doubt.

Why would you root for either one?

Three best teams in college football
Saban
^ ^ ^
Kirby Sarkasian
there is a recruiting and coaching system that has been learned and implemented that is just superior to the rest of the college football nation.
It takes a couple of years to implement once they leave Alabama, but proof is in the pudding that it works.

I expect Bama to win. Hate Texas too but Bama has a way with rematches.
If Texas wins Big 12 will claim credit despite Texas essentially being SEC now

Doubtful; if LSU goes undefeated and wins the conference championship game, they will not be left out over anyone. No undefeated SEC team will ever be left out, and a 1-loss team will be hard to deny, too.

You're right; they clearly ignored the fact that two, 1-loss power 5 teams won their CCGs while having a better body of work than FSU. That couldn't possibly have weighed in on their decision.

Won't happen if LSU win the SEC championship. FSU got robbed because they're not in the SEC.
