Word is Segar is already gone and Bahnsen is on the way...I understand they did not have LSU’s best interest at heart, what have they done in the past to be declared enemies of the state?

I dont think that at all. I choose to believe that Alleva empowered them to cover his own arse after what went down at Duke on his watch. Alleva was determined to have a "clean" Athletic Dept and that meant putting personnel like Bahnsen and Segar on the aggressive and not passive nature of things.

Anyone that has the athletes drug tested following a big victory is just an a-hole

You can also blame Bo for the akiem hicks debacle.

Alleva was off to the golf course at 2:30 every day, and Miriam pretty much did all of the day to day grunt work in his stead.

That was the source of her influence in the department.

That influence is gone now, because Woody is a very hands-on AD.

You're going to see a very ramped-up level of enthusiasm from LSU's coaches. They're going to have a totally different relationship with the compliance staff going forward.

Compliance seemed to be more of having a miniature version of the NCAA on campus instead of working WITH our coaches

Well, drug testing the entire basketball team after the Tennessee game was just a dick move. They’ve hunted more weed suspensions than every other SEC school combined.

Usually compliance departments advocate for the company, not against the company. It seems LSU's compliance department advocates for the regulatory agency (NCAA) instead of for LSU.

The drug testing and policies around it were a huge detriment to us constantly

Could you imagine Mathieu never missing a down in 2012?

Even if they were just following orders I d say the relationship between them and many of the coaches is strained at best, better to just start fresh.

Reminds me of the CPA I once had. a-hole seemed to be more of an IRS employee than mine. He enjoyed screwing me into the ground over stuff I knew was deductible, saying was too gray an area and to be safe let's err on the side of the IRS. Jealous bastard hated to see anyone outdo him. He gone. Alleva gone. Compliance department about to be gone.

Yep looks like Wade will be around for awhile. Sucks for you but you’ll have to learn to live with it.

You mean exactly like I predicted would happen? Unlike yourself, I never freaked out and cried all over the board.

that's unreal, the only person who has been in the athletic dept. longer then him is Sam Nader. Maybe Saban will hire him. I hope so.

Any links to articles as to this being true? Just how credible is this rumor?
