Baffling play calling on our last drive in regulation

We just needed a first down...at any point. If you were going to pass at some point, why not run play action on 1st or 2nd when UK was selling out on the run?
On 3rd, they realized that there was a good chance we would pass. Also, if you had designed the 1st and 2nd down plays to actually gain yardage, that would have made for a shorter 3rd down conversion.
Make it make sense.

Line up on fourth and get the first. If we cant push Kentucky off the line of scrimmage for one fricking yard then we deserve to lose

The speed option where everyone knew Sam was not pitching was the worst call of the night. Maybe worse than the two point defense.

I just can’t get over that 4th down. I mean it was so predicable what was going to happen next after we punted. Very Kelly-esque

Especially when we were eating them alive in the middle of the field!!!

The ironic part of this is historically Lane is very aggressive and it has backfired on him when the smart play was to punt, or kick a FG, depending on the situation. Last night he played it by the book and it back fired. Some times its just not your night.
