IIRC, that very shirt (allegedly), and the pants were sold on eBay 6 or 7 years ago.

They were. I met the guy who bought them in the Stadium a couple years ago. He was wearing the pants and I had to comment on them. I said those look just like the old Cholly Mac pants from the 70's. He said they were and that he bought them on EBay from his wife.

Buddy once saw Coach Mac at the grocery store getting nothing but Coors light and Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla. Guess he was making a beer float

I'd check the new Bookstore and Tiger People.

I really doubt it's at the new LSU bookstore (a lot of Toonces there). Might wanna try some place else.

Les could conceivably break that record if he stays for another 5 years.

By todays standards Cholly Mac would have been fired by year 3. Although I do appreciate what he did for LSU football.

I bought a version of that hat last fall. It's a purple L on a gray cap, with purple bill and accent holes. The gray feels like a felt. Sits lower though.

I love it, but it's only a game day hat.

Am I being to sensitive or does it seem Coach Mac is being disrespected on here? He was a fine man and coach. Loved watching him along with John Ferguson on "LSU Football", which was a 30 min recap of the game which came on in Shreveport, Channel 3 (KTBS)on Sunday night at 1030 pm. My mom would let me stay up during football season and watch the show which was great. To bad someone could not go thru the archives somewhere and scrounge up an episode of that show. Ferguson narrated and Cholly Mac provided commentary about certain plays. In addition, watch the "Old War Skule" DVD where Tommy Cassanova and Ronnie Estay talk about Charles McClendon. You will then see what he meant to the players, the university and the state.

Football was played by grown men back then, son, even the kids.

9-1-1

7-4

8-2-1

Gets you fired these days? 3 Bowl appearances, a Cotton Bowl win over Texas and a Sugar Bowl win over Syracuse?

(Dietzel was 11-17-2 after 3 seasons, BTW.)
