They are the only hope we have as for a louisiana kids to help recruit this future Louisiana talent to LSU. I hope everything workout. Next year we gone be alright cause we won't have to depend on one man and now we can play team ball.

I have high hopes for B-Samp and Mays. Worried a little about Sims developing, mainly because he had to play post his whole HS career and he's going to have to work on a stronger outside game/ball handling/shooting etc. But he's very athletic. Put in the work and I can see him being a solid player down the line. Wouldn't expect too much as a frosh, which is fine. This program needs more 3-4 year players.

I'm not sold on Mays. I know he had good stats at Findlay this year and he did well in AAU. I just don't see him being consistently good if he doesn't play at 100% all the time. I think Uhigh looked better this year without him. I really liked the way Simms played in high school. I think it will take him a couple of years to develop into an SEC player, if he can do it at all. Just like when Bridgewater came out, I think Simms could dominate on a low D1 level maybe even a mid D1 school.

Brandon Sampson was not the best HS senior in Baton Rouge. Jacob Evans from St.Michael was. He outplayed Brandon Sampson when they played as Seniors. He played over 14 minutes per game and led Cincinnati with 24 points in there NCAA tournament game.

What the hell does this mean? He's a very smooth player with a style different. Think the exact opposite of Tack Minor. Mays plays under control and is very methodical. He is an extremely smart player.

Mays is a true and complete PG.

That one man was more than happy to play "team ball". In fact, he was killed constantly on this board for not "taking over games." The problem is that you have a coach who doesn't under how to teach "team ball". 5 individuals moving wherever they want on the court with no rhyme or reason is not team ball. JJ's offense amounted to nothing more than "whoever has the ball try to do something with it". Rarely did anyone move away from the ball. Rarely did anyone set screens away from the ball. On defense it was an unmitigated disaster with game plan of "try to get steals so we can get out and run." Keeping people in front of them and contesting shots were secondary in JJ's "defense". To his credit though, LSU implemented the "plan" to perfection. They led the SEC in steals while simultaneously being one of the least efficient defenses in the conference.

Sims is an undersized forward for the SEC and probably needs a year or two to contribute significantly

Mays would be a welcome addition at point guard, a position the LSU basketball program has struggled to field almost on the same level as LSU QB in football.

Sampson looked decent early in season but he looked lost the rest of the time. The talent appears to be there and he could be deadly from the perimeter and is not bad on defense either.

Because we did that so much this year?

Wishful thinking, bro.

As long as Johnny Jones is the head coach there is no hope for LSU basketball

Sampson showed much more promise than Quarterman did his freshman year so I believe he will feel that void much better than most people think.

Mays is exactly what this team needs, a pass first pg. Yes Ben was willing to do that but we needed him in the post much more than we needed him up top with the ball.

Sims will be that player that I'll be happy if we get anything out of him in his freshman year.

One guy that everyone forgets is the Australian SF Hayward. I hope his game translates over because he seemed to be very athletic with a nice shot.

With all that being said I don't trust Johnny to get us in the right position to have good ball movement and play tough D.

This guy is no Darcy Malone, nor for that matter Ben Simmons! He looks like the real deal to me! Kieran Hayward Highlights

Could be a real find!
