IMO DByrd should never be considered as a LSU "Great".
Watch 2007 Auburn game again.
Won LSU a national championship.

I don't think the Brydman ever spoke badly of Lee. In fact, in this 2008 interview he's doing nothing but lifting him up.
Also, Demetrius Byrd has a very distinct way of speaking that is probably reflective of his Miami roots, and I think it's a huge part of his appeal, and it's petty to knock him for that.

The guy was in a coma... I think it's understandable if his speech and syntax are a bit jumbled.

Not at all. Ball should've been on the outside shoulder but it passed right in front of the Auburn DB's face. If he had turned his head in time that was pick or at least batted away.
This. It was a poor play on the ball by an otherwise talented corner.

D Byrd was at the game Saturday. I saw he was down on the field before the game. After the game, in the crowd traffic following the band, a golf cart passed by and D Byrd was sitting on the back. I quickly flashed a "you can't see me" and he laughed and did it back.
I remember that LSU baseball player Ben Saxon really appreciated when on senior day when he was announced, many in the crowd were waving towels (Saxon was know for waving a rally towel). He said, "of all the great players that have been here, it was cool to know that the fans here will remember me for something." I just wanted to let D Byrd know that he will always be associated with the 2007 National Champion Tigers and he was the best at giving the "you can't see me".
insert cool story bro

I don't blame him for being frustrated his senoir year. D Byrd was an amazing receiver and nothing was coming his way. If you want to see him be a team player, go watch other people high lights and you'll catch a few great downfield blocks from D Byrd. he threw some textbook hip blocks.

this kid was kind of a jerk his senior year. his attitude on the field was piss poor and he bad mouthed our qb all year. made comments about how j lee was costing him money

Regardless of Great player or not and intellect aside.......this guy gets the meaning of life.....some people on this board could learn a thing or two from D. Byrd....
