He was moved over to “compete” against Traore for the spot. O said he was more consistent during today’s interview. Outside of this “revelation” nothing much of substance was said. Hard to hear the interview with the outside noise and mic volume being low. Ether way, anything better than Traore was last week is good news. Also having Saadiq back will help.

Time to man up young gun. Protect Joe Burrow and get this offense going!

I’m not sure what football experts would say about Austin’s technique at offensive tackle. What stood out to me when I watched him was he was playing very aggressively, all the way to the whistle. He played like he had something to prove. I hope that mean streak continues now that he’s in the role he earned.

I saw just the opposite out of Traore.

Traore struggles in pass protection is my understanding

Unless he's holding which he gets called for roughly every other play it seems

Well he was awful at LT last week so I’m hoping this works out.

You must've watched a different game.

Not playing scared...rather playing to make something good happen

Everyone knows a solid OL is the most important thing for an Offense to gel and be good.
As a group they need to develope a chemistry and become fluent.
This is a difficult task with rotating starters each week.
We better get some good bodies in next year.

While O was interviewed Deculus sat with his hands folded in his lap. Traore twiddled his thumbs.

This is completely untrue. I sat and watched a replay of the game and specifically watched Deculus every play to see how he did. I didn’t see him get beat off the line one time in the 3/4 of the game I watched. He let his guy get inside of him once on a spin move after initial contact but he recovered and was able to prevent a sack. He is light-years better than Traore in pass protection. He doesn’t always drive his guy off the ball in run blocking but he is usually in good position and at least gets a stalemate.

Not much. He got beat on a passing play early in the game, but he actually recovered before the guy got to Burrow, but Burrow took off and ran. I think this was our first 3rd down

Why did Deculus get moved to guard if he was the 2nd best OT?
