Dr. Corey Spurlin BIO

Anyone should feel free to voice their displeasure via emails to Auburn U.

no they don't. now I know you are talking out of your arse.

I was in band for 4 years in the mid-2000s while Spurlin was a GA. The away bands play whatever they, whenever they want, other than during plays. They have no boundaries.

Maybe not, but there is something to be said for being classy, which Auburn's band is not.

I hate to break this to you, but LSU does this at away games, too.

Yes. It happens, but Auburn's drum major will literally queue up a song after an LSU TD then wait and start the song in the middle of knights of old. They also waited until the Alma Mater with the team to start playing again.

It's childish and pathetic.

I agree. I've already heard that the Aggie band has been told they aren't marching either. Let them all march, it doesn't bother me.

Aggie band is unique. Despite all of A&M's weird, off-putting traditions, I do like watching their band march in those formations.

I really like going to the PMAC and watching the band before the game, but I'm unusually not interested in staying in my seat at halftime to watch the show.

This: In fact, when we were at Florida last year, Roy made us wait until after they got done singing their traditional forth quarter song.

'Cause, in general, nobody cares about the bands marching on the field at halftime anymore. Hell, more than half the stadium is either pissing, eating, or yapping on the phone during the show anyway.

Times change.

Except for Ohio State, and maybe a few other schools, the bands just don't have the pull they once had.

Truth. TBH, marching bands are usually boring and don't sound that good. Ohio St has a creative vibe that makes if interesting and the black colleges are fun too, but LSUs and most others are dull.

Sad if this is true. When I was in Tiger Band in the early 70s, there was mutual respect between both bands and both schools. The Auburn band was outstanding (but not as good as we were). We actually held up a banner across the stadium to salute their band, and it was warmly accepted by their band and fans. We also had a post game reception for them in the old band hall, and everyone had a great time.

I think after Tommy Tuberville's reign of terror at Auburn, with smoking of cigars in Tiger Stadium and doing his best imitation of Spurrier by running up the score with less than a minute left, it all turned sour.
