anybody have any information as to why the Auburn band didn't do their halftime performance?

Rumor I heard was that Aleva sent a letter two weeks ago telling Auburn they would not be allowed to perform on the field at halftime. If thats true, it sucks.

That was for the football players - the A/C benches.

And it was the fire marshall that killed it - not Alleva.

They're bitches and don't deserve to even attend the game, much less perform at halftime. Playing over the Alma Mater is chickenshit.

Maybe it's because they're a bunch of a-holes. I hate Auburn's band. Every time they come to BR, they constantly try to play over Tiger Band every chance they get. They did it again on Saturday.

No clue but I heard them playing all of LSU's banned songs, including neck.

Its just the band. They were probably thankful they didnt have to march in the heat.

Actually it does.

Auburn happens to have one of the best bands in the SEC and the country.

This has to do with the "concert-style" halftime shows that TB is performing later this year. There won't be time for other bands. Letters have been sent to various schools not to even bother sending their bands the rest of the year.

I think it's a disgrace, and the big wigs and corporate types are moving to make college marching bands practically irrelevant.

Alabama's Bryant-Denny Stadium is already like an NFL venue, and the once proud "Million Dollar Band" has been made an afterthought. They are more like a "Tree-Fiddy Band" now.

'Cause, in general, nobody cares about the bands marching on the field at halftime anymore. Hell, more than half the stadium is either pissing, eating, or yapping on the phone during the show anyway.

Times change.

Except for Ohio State, and maybe a few other schools, the bands just don't have the pull they once had.

Agreed.

We shouldn't ask other teams to let our band play at halftime, either. To avoid looking like assholes.

I hate when the opposing band is on the field.
