It’s like he’s sitting on a barstool and trying to swing with only his arms

That AB honestly wasn’t bad. He got some decent contact just went to a bad place

That was a weak pop-up and Hughes swung as hard as he could

Hal is really hard to watch at the plate, it's like just hope they throw him 4 balls so he can walk

I immediately got disappointed after Broussard's hit when I realized Hughes was coming up after him with two outs.

Games started early, I missed how we scored. Anyone provide any detail?

Hughes swings like his bat weighs 54 ounces.

I've decided to try and give some version of BPB while also updating the thread title

honestly, there can't be much of a scouting report on him with only 37 ABs on the season.
37 ABs that are all available on film. All of these schools have guys breaking down tape of everyone they're going to face. They can get enough of a report to have a good idea of what to attack pretty quickly when they can see every single swing he's taken this season.

It’s brutal, and he doesn’t see the inside pitches worth a damn.

line out to right ends the inning
pretty generous calling that a line-out
I've been saying it all year but I think Hal needs to use a lighter bat and/or hit the weight room hard. I've never seen a player on our team with a slower swing and weaker hands than Hughes. Guys struggles to get the bat through the zone, so even when he does time a pitch correctly the ball goes nowhere.

looked like that kid just puked out of no where

Then do better, and stop posting head bangs and negative crap.

Be happy we don't have the automatic out to start next inning.
Hal got all of that one. That's as deep as I've seen him hit a ball.

Hughes tries and hustles. But he can't hit SEC pitching. He couldn't last year, either.
